Ibiza Wildlife

Whales, at least off the coast of Norway, have decreased in size over the last few years. The minke whales caught this season have been much leaner than before. Is so bad the ribs are often showing. The reason seems be that there are many more whales than before, in particular more of the larger species like the fin whale seen off Ibiza. There's not enough food for all of them. Overfishing is probably part of the problem.

We can expect to see whales seeking out new areas to find food.

I got back home yesterday... Was in Ibiza for over a week and didn't see one jellyfish 🪼 🤔

I saw three people getting stung at Cala Salada (around the rocks) two weeks ago but haven't noticed anything since. The jellyfish sign was up on the Saladeta lifeguard tower that day.

This year we tried new beaches... normally Cala Conta and Cala Salada are on heavy rotation (usually lots of jellies) for us, so maybe that was the difference.
