I was really ill with the Flu the first year i went and then my mates who were with me also got it.

Apparently its on the flight there or back that you pick the germs up. I didnt get anything last year, i was sat right at the front of the plane, not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I think your more prone to get it on the way back.

I had ibiza flu very bad 2 yrs ago, came back from the foam party at amnesia and could not get out of bed for 48 hrs, not being melodramatic but I've never felt so rough !!

every year without fail i get it. my 1st trip there was my worst. i thought i may have got away with it this year but ... on the plane on the way back ... cough, cough, cough ohhhhh damn its started!!!!!!!!!! and 3 weeks later its finally gone!!! but im going back for more in a couple of weeks - am i ever gonna learn?!?!?!

My mate & I both got really sick after our trip last year! Must have caught it on the flight back or something :? Took friggin AGES to recover! My mate only felt completley fine in around late october.. nearly 2 months after we went! ITS VICIOUS!!!

God, I used to smoke a fair bit over there too and the things I was coughing up wasn't funny. Sunstoke is no joke either, I had one of those silly early morning flights and we had to leave our appartments at 10:00am. It fely like electric currents being set off in my head, and every time I drank water it made it worse.

What about the Horrors? Anybody get those ridiculously scary nightmares when they get back home?

not really -- i did come back to my hotel once and read about 10 pages of harry potter in the wrong order - didnt notice til someone said to me i was turning the pages backwards

remember dont do drugs

well not everday

I've had it the past two years. The first time I got it in 2002, I felt so awful, I had to miss the Cocoon closing party, which I'm sure you can imagine was pretty devastating for me!

It's all due to too much partying and not enough recovery time. Also a lack of fluids and decent food.

To avoid it, try to not go out too much and make sure you have time to recover. Drink plenty of fluids, especially when in the sun and try to not sit out in the sun all day or you'll get sun stroke which I think adds to the 'flu. Try to have decent meals and not go out clubbing on an empty stomach.

Oh and take Berocca daily (or 1000mg Vitamin C) and 5-HTP.

Totally. If you can handle that you can pretty much handle anything mentally I think. There's nothing scarier.

Can't believe someone brought up the electric shocks as well, they're very weird. Almost enough to make you worry...almost.

Don't eat cheese before bedtime and you should be OK!

cant u just drink loads of orange juice?!

I suppose, but the levels of vitamin C wouldn't be anywhere near as high unless you ate so many oranges that you would be going to the loo every 5 minutes!

Trust me, it's worth investing in.

That's just your mind trying to free itself from the matrix.
