ibiza gossip 2025

So went to hi last night after years since last going. Now I remember why...

I see they've not done anything to fix the theatre mad crush or its sound system 🤣

One guy I was with is a music producer and her was like, the sounds not right in here.

Maybe they need to terrace it like a football stadium to make flow in and out of the floor area/bit at back less stupid.

Club room was OK as it wasn't that full.

/rant over. Probably another one soon once gone to universe 😬

I feel like I haven’t heard a thing about Hi outside of Black Coffee. I wonder how those parties have been doing.
We were at Hugel / Miss Monique start of august.

We arrived at 02:30, it was busy but not too busy. At 04:00 we switched to Miss Monique. A lot of space to dance.

Music was great: first afrohouse and then "afterlife sound" was a really good mix. We stayed until the end: 06:10.

And that's in the first year, when almost everyone is checking out the new location. How do they plan to fill the place in 3-4 years? ;)
With locals for free. Apparently 😬

Perhaps they need policy similar to DC10 where there is a cap on how much a DJ can be paid for a gig. 🤷‍♂️

Or turn it into a massive laser quest hall thing where you can do it to some EDM playing 🫡

Since we are now in September, let's address the state of play.

It should be clear to those of you who frequent the forum often that both July and August haven't exactly gone how a lot of businesses would like. And although the clubs would certainly like to be fuller (and within that, there are definitely some real losers who are finding the increased competition a mammoth challenge), actually nightlife overall is faring a lot better than some of the other sectors.

The positives? Well, after years of people complaining the clubs are too busy, there is currently some comfortably busy dancefloors (again, there are of course exceptions), so arguably the consumer is benefiting.

Throw in some great ticket options - with or without drinks included - I'm looking at Pacha and Chinois specifically, and this is the most affordable Ibiza clubbing has been in some time, if you play your cards right and can be flexible. That might mean early or late arrival. Personally, I never really liked getting to a club super early. But everyone is different.

While many are taking the view that peak season underdelivered, September and October are shaping up as rockets, as you can surmise from a cursory check of flight and hotel prices. It seems that trend is set to continue. Seemingly the days of cheap closing party getaways are gone.

Long term prognosis isn't quite as good.

Next year is not only a world cup year, which we know historically Ibiza always takes a hit during, but given the competition is taking place in the USA, the kick-off times are all late evening for European audiences. This will hurt attendances, there is little doubt. The clubs would be wise to start planning for this in advance. I reckon we could well see some super early bird prices in January and February, albeit non-refundable options

I was gonna write something similar, you beat me to it.

I'll add some more info and personal opinion about it later today or tomorrow maybe.

here's some more thoughts

https://www.diariodeibiza.es/ibiza/...-son-necesarios-decrecer-ibiza-121106615.html

confirming people come for much shorter stays nowadays, 3-4 nights, but maybe multiple times per season. I've had this feeling for a while now and it also explains as to why the airport numbers keep being so good, but then the island never feels packed. also, airport numbers also always include the private jets and it's evident those numbers keep rising and rising.

boat charter sector not reporting good numbers. confirms another thing we see: people do wanna come to ibiza, nevermind the high cost of accommodation. and since the clubs are still the island's USP, they still make it to a clubnight or two. BUT...and that's really something we see this year, after paying for travel, accomm and a bit of clubbing, there is derfinitely less budget around for activities like a boat day out or nice meals - which also explains why (with the exception of a few top luxury restaurants) you can easily get tables in restaurants all summer this year.

Yep as we discussed people are booking stuff in advance for a specific budget so there is no float cash to do spontaneous things.

Was talking to a few traveler's last night, basically everything planned out ahead of time. Which is good for budget, but bad for island as mentioned above.

It's also bad for the tourists imho as I feel you've already booked and paid for stuff, you're forcing yourself to get up and go to things when not feeling it (dance death march) and lose the spontaneous part of meeting people and just going somewhere.

I was surprised though at number of young people (20s lot) at 528 who where loving the more actual clubbing music side of things.

So perhaps there is some hope.

Always enjoy the “state of affairs” types posts - cheers @stivi and @W_I_C

Fully agree with the multiple, shorter visits across the season as have spotted this trend amongst people my age. Guess as people get older they cannot drop responsibilities for a fortnight, but can get away from the kids etc for a long weekend or two.

Are any 18 year olds still doing a two week holiday these days?! That was how I did my first visit in 2001! Those days are gone now?

The presale tickets kills spontaneity - which I think is a sad thing, but appreciate it helps people in terms of cash flow through the year.

It is only 2:25 PM but this morning I crossed San Antonio from one end to the other then I went to have lunch at port des torrents, (so I also crossed the entire bay and cala de bou)
This is the first time in 2 months that I have seen this part of the island as calm, we are on Monday and the month of August is over! For my part, it was time

By Thursday, Friday, we will welcome the September clientele, which for me is the best by far 🩵

I do wonder if radio 1 moving from bank holiday took away the mad rush to get there for August bank holiday for brits

That coupled with the fact those events just don't seem as 'big' as they evrtainly used to

On another note

I feel like I've barely seen any footage from Mambo pre parties this year, assuming they're not pulling the 'names' they once did?
