We were at Hugel / Miss Monique start of august.I feel like I haven’t heard a thing about Hi outside of Black Coffee. I wonder how those parties have been doing.
Very interesting to see that Carl Cox with The Chemical Brothers is free ALL night for workers / residents…
With locals for free. ApparentlyAnd that's in the first year, when almost everyone is checking out the new location. How do they plan to fill the place in 3-4 years?![]()
Since we are now in September, let's address the state of play.
It should be clear to those of you who frequent the forum often that both July and August haven't exactly gone how a lot of businesses would like. And although the clubs would certainly like to be fuller (and within that, there are definitely some real losers who are finding the increased competition a mammoth challenge), actually nightlife overall is faring a lot better than some of the other sectors.
The positives? Well, after years of people complaining the clubs are too busy, there is currently some comfortably busy dancefloors (again, there are of course exceptions), so arguably the consumer is benefiting.
Throw in some great ticket options - with or without drinks included - I'm looking at Pacha and Chinois specifically, and this is the most affordable Ibiza clubbing has been in some time, if you play your cards right and can be flexible. That might mean early or late arrival. Personally, I never really liked getting to a club super early. But everyone is different.
While many are taking the view that peak season underdelivered, September and October are shaping up as rockets, as you can surmise from a cursory check of flight and hotel prices. It seems that trend is set to continue. Seemingly the days of cheap closing party getaways are gone.
Long term prognosis isn't quite as good.
Next year is not only a world cup year, which we know historically Ibiza always takes a hit during, but given the competition is taking place in the USA, the kick-off times are all late evening for European audiences. This will hurt attendances, there is little doubt. The clubs would be wise to start planning for this in advance. I reckon we could well see some super early bird prices in January and February, albeit non-refundable options

Yep as we discussed people are booking stuff in advance for a specific budget so there is no float cash to do spontaneous things.here's some more thoughts

confirming people come for much shorter stays nowadays, 3-4 nights, but maybe multiple times per season. I've had this feeling for a while now and it also explains as to why the airport numbers keep being so good, but then the island never feels packed. also, airport numbers also always include the private jets and it's evident those numbers keep rising and rising.

boat charter sector not reporting good numbers. confirms another thing we see: people do wanna come to ibiza, nevermind the high cost of accommodation. and since the clubs are still the island's USP, they still make it to a clubnight or two. BUT...and that's really something we see this year, after paying for travel, accomm and a bit of clubbing, there is derfinitely less budget around for activities like a boat day out or nice meals - which also explains why (with the exception of a few top luxury restaurants) you can easily get tables in restaurants all summer this year.
Correct, just confirmed by the club. I'm told this is not Ibiza-specific, but rather all upcoming MRAK dates.Speaking about Amnesia, has MRAK's residency been cancelled?
