Loads of rozzers at the start of the season to show that something is being done. Then minimal for 5 months. Followed by loads of rozzers at the end of the season to show that something is being done.

Same every single year for many years. Nothing new to see here people, move along
Good to know, then I know what to expect at the Music On.

I have been partying in ibiza since many years, but I have never seen anything like this before.

Have they managed to track down the 'Where you from?' Ladies who pickpocket in the same spot outside Eden every season yet? 🤔 even Chief Wiggum off the Simpsons could have sorted that out 😀

Where is there to go if you go out, its not like Space where you could go across the road to the bar or bora bora
There were a few things we wanted to see around 20-22 and then nothing until 2am - would have been nice to go for a few hour, take a cab to dinner and chill a bit and come back

It was anything but pretty yesterday. Every cab was controlled and also in the club everything was full of securities. It was not a nice atmosphere. :(

Every cab? 😳 So how far do they go? Just checking who looks "suspicious“ or literally everyone has to empty their pockets or even more… Luckily haven’t seen that in 15 years Ibiza yet.

Unfortunately, the Guardian missed the after party yesterday..well 2 parties in a row are a little exhausting I think

Monday night they “just” pointed a flashlight into our cab and then waved us on.

On Saturday, in front of the Hi was already a large contingent of police with dogs. Yesterday the situation in front of the DC10 that policemen with weapons stood there.
I do not understand what just the occasion for the measures are.
I noticed this as we left Ushuaia - though they didn't seem to be doing anything - just standing around?

There wasn't the same presence two days earlier for Afterlife closing....

Does anyone know when it’s the closing party for the mosquitos this year ? 🦟 🦟 🦟 😵‍💫

By far the worst I've experienced. Having to use DEET as I've run out of THEYE wristbands (anyone coming over from the UK soon?!) and the current breed of mosquitos seem resilient to citronella, coils, and plug-ins.

So feels like Skepta and ANOTR are the big "business" winners this season? Seem to be getting gigs at multiple clubs and nights? Along with Keinemusik of course...is this a fair observation?
how do you mean by business? They're popular acts that lots of people want to see and thousands of people have enjoyed seeing this summer.

What should they do, turn down the gigs?

None of them by the way have their own residencies weekly on top of playing every else.

In the world most people live in, any music act getting booked regularly and gaining popularity, usually means they're doing something right.

But what do I know !

There is a food court now, run by Ciao Ciao from Playa D'en Bossa. That's why.

Also, Monday is the longest duration of any party on the island so that's why it's done.

I suspect it's more to do with the lack of other parties on yesterday plus how busy DC10 (& Hi on Saturday) would be and the Guardia knowing there will be a lot of 'easy targets' in terms of finding people in possession.
Not even this really. It's always been this way for openings and closings at the big parties, as long as I can remember.

Including strip searches, stopping taxis, etc, etc

Club Chinois, Trip 7 oct little review.

mr. Dan Ghenacia stepped up, yees, with a bag of vinyls. Yees, big smile from me. Unpolitely changing the meh-style and going in a Paris Is Sleeping direction with lots of old 12” house, some UK breakbeat / warehouse stuff.
Fresh like swimming the tide at Caló de S’Illa.

Proper selector and dj, his mixing style is like “boring” old school with very little knob twidling. At the end of a track which he spins long and little interrupted, he cuts into 4 beats of next track for som flava, and soon then just crossfades “boring” without much fuss in the next track. What a pleasure to experience the vibes of these old museum vinyls from 1988. The crowd had a lot of old peopled as well, and they smiled, waved and danced their ass off. Thank you Dan! Merci pour cette soirée fantastique!
I went to this also. Dan is still one of the best around. Whatever the situation whatever the vibe, he gets it right.

Chapeau Danny x

hi everyone, dropping in to the old neighbourhood after another long season. hope everyone is ok?

regarding OVERCROWDING

honestly, I'm actually baffled and find it hilarious that after a lifetime of going to clubs in ibiza, clubs in general anywhere, understanding even the slightest thing about how society works, that people are still talking about busy clubs in ibiza.

Generally I tend to find most of these people aren't even attending the events or haven't experienced what they're talking about recently, they just see things online or on socials and cluelessly chip in with their negativity. These are the people who are never happy, the club will always be too busy and piss them off, until the point at which it's then empty and there is no atmosphere. There is no middle point or positive scenario/outcome possible for people like this. There are a few commenting in this thread like this. These people typically also moan about cameras on the dance floor and the young generation and the fact they like the music they like, not what was popular 20 years ago.

Firstly, how busy a club is or isn't is totally subjective to each individual. I've spent my life dancing on rammed dance floors cos generally the best parties are busy. Cream Courtyard, Cocoon Amnesia, Carl Cox Space. You're at the best party in the world, at one of the best clubs in the world and 8000 people are having the time of their life each week and keep coming back for more, but yet there is always someone unhappy. I spent several Amnesia Closings being squashed from all sides for hours and honestly, I really didn't give a f*** cos that was how it goes down for a party like that. It's not Sunday service at the village church. It's a big, fat, dirty, sweaty, chaotic rave.

How anyone can go to El Row, one of the most famous and popular parties in the world, fully knowing it is going to be a riot and full on and intense (sounds good to me!), yet feel upset cos it was a busy at the bar and toilets, it's mind boggling. These are the same people pissed off when they get charged 20€ for a drink in the club, over and over again, despite knowing exactly what the price is and it being their choice to buy or not.

As a promoter in Ibiza for over 20 years, including some pretty busy parties along the way, if these events were truly way way overcrowded and so horrible an experience, then the event wouldn't work, people wouldn't keep buying tickets and come back for more and tell their friends about how good it was.

Honestly, every time someone complains about overcrowding at a club, there Is nearly always some other reason why they're pissed off. The taxi driver was a Spanish prick, there was a queue for the taxi, the ticket price cost the price you should expect for ibiza but it was still too much and annoyed you, you had to wait outside the club, they searched you going in and you got caught, you had an argument with your partner or friends, you were tired or worst of all, you went to an event where you don't like the music and everyone is younger than you and likes this shit music you hate !!! If you've got any of this on the brain in any way, then of course it being busy will piss you off.

Finally, again, people seem to ignore any efforts at all to improve customer comfort. Nearly all clubs in Ibiza, including, ushuaia, hi, dc10, pacha and amnesia regularly have sold out events, meaning that a set amount of tickets has been sold and that's that. Previously, even for the biggest events, you could always buy a ticket on the door if you were willing to pay the price and wait.

Sorry for the long post, but I've spent over 20 years promoting the island and the reasons why it's so special, in fact many of those years, were with Spotlight and nobody promotes Ibiza more than Ibiza Spotlight does and has fought harder to make sure the island has the most amazing parties in the world, whether you like it personally or not. The island is a meritocracy and always has been, If your party and DJs are any good, people will buy a ticket and come. If that means 7000 people a week go to El Row and have the most fun ever, yet you happen to be pissed of cos it's too busy, then you're the problem, nothing else.

2 years ago, the clubs couldn't even open, it's f***ing amazing that our Little Rock in the Med is back kicking ass the way it is. For the record, this website and business exists originally to encourage and promote new visitors to the island, to hopefully enjoy the same experiences we have and share in why we love it here.

If anyone wants a list of mediocre events with sparse people so you can get to the bar and toilets ok and the music will be shit as well...I'm happy to provide, but the chances are they won't be back next year.

:)

What way have they gone ?

Also, it's a shame but you're a fan of their music. huh ?!
Not that hard to understand is it?

They haven’t gone in a complete opposite direction of the tunes they were producing YET

But think of the likes of solomon and tales of us (for a personal example) I love a lot of their own tunes/remixes but would i pay to go see them play a set now? Would i f***

Hi @grego

I wasn't passing judgement or suggesting they should turn down the gigs. I like to keep my eye in and I noticed them on a lot of lineups at a few different clubs which is sometimes unusual and usually an indicator that a bigger following season might be on the cards.

Ive not seen them play, so wouldn't pass any judgement without having done so. "Business" wasn't intended as an insult so apologies if you have taken it that way. I dont often go to the sort of nights they tend to play at - circoloco maybe once a year if I like the look of the lineup, but never Paradise, Music On, Martinez Bros etc - just noticed that ANOTR in particular seem to be becoming massive.
