I'm not trying to defend anyone here, but...

...I've been on this forum for just under two decades now and the one consistent thing has been how expensive entry to clubs and the drinks in there were.

...also, not sure how much it's felt in other countries currently, but here in spain, electricity cost is at an all-time high. fuel as well. everything's just stupidly expensive right now. so yeah I truly don't forsee anything to get any cheaper this summer!
Absolutely. As I say, high club entry and drink prices in Ibiza are nothing new. It was a issue back in 1997! The cost of living is going up everywhere. U.K. has added brexit costs to contend with too.

It is interesting to see that the idea that people won’t tolerate being ripped off post covid doesn’t seem to be holding water. People want to get away and have fun in 2022 after two years of lockdowns and no holidays (for many). However, I think the consequence of the greed and cost of living issues will be felt in Ibiza club land from 2023 onwards. Folk might pay €80 once to hear a dj play his own tracks for two hours and €85 for 5 drinks. But I think they will think twice in future about doing it again. Many will have to make choices about not attending other events while on vacation too. There is a ceiling to everything. It will be interesting to see if other clubs are holding their prices or introducing a hike too.

Which means it's likely a pure house music event and no EDM, I won't be attending but I applaud anything that accelerates the demise of EDM.
While I would definitely welcome a pure house event, I can't see Calvin Harris NOT playing his hits (which I would classify as EDM).

Was there at his night in 2019 when he did exactly that (play his hits) and while it's not my favorite music, in my opinion it does work in that venue fwiw.

I saw Calvin at Pacha in 2018 and he focused on his newer (at the time) more chilled hits such as One Kiss rather than the older EDM 'bangerz' like Summer.

85 euros for 5 drinks isn't such a stretch? Works out 17 euros per drink...we are used to paying 10/12 euros for a beer so this can't be bad given it includes "non premium" spirits (whatever that means??)

Think my point was more that it's weird that its water, beer, softs and non premium spirits when Amnesia do different size packs. You'd only buy these if you were on the G&Ts all day

Yeah fair point. Not been to Hi and not likely to but always had the impression you need to price in another couple of euros per drink? How much is a beer there? Could easily be 15. To be fair amnesia might be considered one of the better value places for a drink now after DC10?

Amnesia packs are really good (if you don’t lose your vouchers during the night!). The one thing is I always feel for the bar staff as people with vouchers tend not to leave a tip for them whereas if you get change back most people would leave a euro or two

I never tip (I'm a Yorkshireman :) ) these places are making enough on ticket prices and drinks to pay their staff a fair wage IMO

Aware that tipping can mean speedier service for the rest of the night though!

Never used to tip but started tipping 1/2 euros per round and genuinely does make a difference if you are looking for consistent service.

On your point above, being a bar person is hard enough anyway, especially when you are trying to make ends meet living on Ibiza! They are working that job more for the perks than the cash, which doesn't make them a charity case but don't assume they are making fortunes!
