Just saw Artbat on an Instagram live and the place looked pretty full... Was the rain that bad that a cancellation looked likely earlier today!?Not yet. Still open
The rainfall was heavy that end of the island, but it was never expected to last long. So persevering was the right callJust saw Artbat on an Instagram live and the place looked pretty full... Was the rain that bad that a cancellation looked likely earlier today!?
Ants was epic but first couple of hours pretty dicey with literal rivers of water to wade through to go to the toilets at the back. Burst drain under the bar roof pissing water up and a load of mad lads ankle deep in the water. Crazy
True!October its usually nice and Sunny again and the rain makes the countryside look colourful.
So was it actually stopped or did they keep going til the end? Reading conflicting reports...Ants was epic but first couple of hours pretty dicey with literal rivers of water to wade through to go to the toilets at the back. Sounds like Festicket are in the poo poo- think Amnesia have used them for ticket sales previously- my drinks pack (RIP) were definitely from them in July
Clubs and promoters using Festicket predict huge losses as company falls into administration
Motion Bristol have issued a statement outlining outstanding payments in excess of £300,000djmag.com
Music stopped for a bout 20 mins during I think Maya Jane Cole’s set but after that it was on right to the end. The rain kind of brought everyone together so vibes were good from most people. So was it actually stopped or did they keep going til the end? Reading conflicting reports...
You and I have been ships passing in the night for about 20 years!
EDIT: Jimmiz, was the night you attended the one Digweed also didn't play? I had the misfortune of witnessing multiple Sasha no-shows back then... But on one occasion Digweed wouldn't go on either, so they sent a no-name to play the discoteca in their place...and he KILLED it. Have always wondered who it was...best guess at the time was Jason Bye. Would love to solve the mystery someday.
Whoever it was, I vividly remember him putting this on at peak hour:
This is very true. And this is the problem with any comparison of past against present/future. The nights are not aimed at our age group anymore - you would have to be a dense promoter to do that.Without being rude your profile name says “1980”, so the same age bracket as a lot of us on here that spent years in Space year after year and loved that period, and will talk about it until our grave.
But times have changed…
People just need to get over that Hï is on the same land as Space was. It’s simply not Space, it’s a different concept. Hï simply isn’t aimed at most of us over 35. Look at Afterlife the place is simply packed to the absolute rafters with a new generation. And this new generation think Hï is the bees-knees. Same with M.Bros, Fisher, Black Coffee. Are we expecting Hï to just do nights that were popular in the 00s? They have absolutely nailed their weekly line-ups in my view, even though only Afterlife and Glitterbox are probably aimed at many of us on here.
It took me a few seasons to get over it, but Hï has an absolute place in Ibiza, like Pacha, Amnesia, DC10, Pikes… they all different, all unique, all aimed at slightly different people.
It is good, unless you are actually trying to use the toilets, in which case it can be quite a fight to get through the crowdThis is very true. Specifically with Hi - i hadn't been until this year, but that Saturday night in the Wild Corner was as good as anything i've been at in Ibiza in recent years.
