We just got quoted €1k spend for the cheapest table for Martinez bros on 15th. Tale of us on 18th seems to be even more. Just the times we are in not set up for couples 😭. Was hoping for a €500 min spend but I knew that was too optimistic. Me and the Mrs still debating it. I’ve wasted money on worse like. Don’t think food is included though which is ridiculous. And 15% optional tip at the end. If anyone is in Ibiza on 15th and fancies sharing with a couple give us a shout. I noticed that a room in Ushuaia is €2k for 3 nights over the same weekend. Don’t know whether that would be more worth while staying there and getting a few nights out of it. But just don’t know what the rules will be for guests either.

the min spend is for 4 pax, so it's 250€ a person if you manage to get 2 more people sharing the table.

to be honest, that isn't crazy expensive. table prices have always started around that price and i think if you went on a date with a lesser known artist it might be even less than the quote you got

Compared to a normal event ticket price around 50 Euros...adding some drinks...perhaps a Ushuaia event would then cost you 100-150 Euros a person. To me, these are crazy expensive prices and while I understand venues have to survive this is taking advantage of the rules and creating an impossible situation to enjoy music from the top Dj's for the average person.

But capacity is probably what 20-25%, I doubt many DJs are dropping their fees + everything that goes with it massively + the cost of opening the venue will be pretty big.

Seems 'OK' to be if there is 4-6 of you I guess - but does mean the average person is probably having 1 night out during their trip, rather than 4-5

Sitting down, not being able to dance, paying at least 100 Euro more than I would usually pay and that is my only night out ...not OK to me.

Not strange people are doing illegal stuff or going to other countries now.

Oh not debating all that - but if you sit down or dance in Ushuaia the cost base is still the same. Cova Santa prices are basically O Beach standard prices so it really is 'par' for the course in Ibiza

I'm not comparing to a normal ticket price, I am comparing to a table price which is the correct comparison IMO.

I'm not trying to defend ushuaïa or anyone, and I know it is expensive, I'm simply saying it's not more expensive than usual when we are talking about tables.

Yeah €250 per head is definitely reasonable (by Ibiza standards). Just trying to convince another couple to fly out with us now 😆.
I have just Seen a club room going for €1,300 for 14th and 15th. 2 events plus 2 nights stay saved from another hotel. Might be more worth it. I’m just trying to find out if hotel guests get a table without a minimum spend now.

I'd be wary of that, given the hotel is quite big surely they cannot guarantee all guests get a table with no spend. I did look at booking Ushuaia recently and the T&Cs actually say 'Guests staying in the Tower Hotel are not guaranteed entry to events' or something to that effect

'In the event that during the 2021 season the conditions derived from the COVID19 situation do not allow the celebration of mass events, guests staying at Ushuaïa Tower may not have access to some restricted events taking place at the Usuhaïa Club facilities or another location of the hotel.'

From a Facebook post from someone that went:

“Table for 3 : minimum expenses 600€
Table for 8 : minimum 4000€
Plus 15% service (not obligatory)
Prices are super high (minimum 400€ for a bottle of champagne, or alcohol.. sangria 1,5l is 500€.
Simple bottle of Minuty rose Or is 350€.
They put some stickers to your cameras on your phone so it’s forbidden to take pictures..
By the way they put palm trees everywhere so you don’t see the Dj’s scene. And they do not provide you any line up so you don’t know who’s playing..
The service is super good, you have always a waiter at your side.

You can not move from a table to another and they have more security than clients..
for me this was not a very nice experience and should not recommend it.”

Yes, but tables are usually centrally located in a venue, close to the stage, with a good view and you have a chance to be right in the middle of everything. You get some fair value for your money. At Ushuaia right now tables are all over the place with some about 35 meters away from the stage and because of the palms no clear view to anywhere. So you basically have expensive poolside seats and somewhere someone is spinning tunes. Far better experiences at other venues in Ibiza.
And I really think they should have created some cheaper seating areas way in the back to make Tale Of Us, Guetta accessible to a few Ushuaia regulars.

Cheers for the heads up. I’ve emailed them and asked what’s the score with it.

I get what you say, but a) you still get the same value in return in terms of drinks - the bottle prices are the same as in other years and b) there are just no general tickets this year as there is no dancefloor, so I think we do have to take into consideration that this revenue stream is simply inexistent this year for those venues that do open.

I get it that it's expensive, I'm not debating that. I also wish things were different, but I do have some understanding for those prices and genuinely don't think they are crazy expensive.

Am I missing something here, or are outdoor parties good to go starting on August 14??

no.

outdoor events such as concerts (no dancing) and big sport events are good to go already now, that hasn't changed. what changes is that from 14th august onwards, you need either proof of double vaccination, a recent negative test or proof of having passed covid to attend those events.

the interesting bit in this article is the very end:

Además, el portavoz del Govern, Iago Negueruela, advirtió que en septiembre se seguirá trabajando con los diferentes sectores para hacerlas extensibles en más ámbitos como el ocio nocturno, ya que «la vacunación es la clave para la recuperación por lo que hacemos un llamamiento al conjunto de ciudadanos», dijo.

same as in other southern european countries, in august, the governments are more or less on holiday - lots of government offices are closed or work on a minimum level only. but he did say that in september they wanna try and work with other sectors such as the nightlife industry to implement the same measure too (vaccine passport/neg test/proof of antibodies) for a safe reopening. by then the vaccination % should hopefully be high enough too.

having said that, don't expect this to happen on 1 september. it'd be nice if we got a little clubbing at the end of the summer, but at this point I'm doubtful.
