also, lots of villa parties happening now that private social reunions aren't limited in numbers anymore.
are there certain channels for this like facebook/instagram pages or do you need to be in the ‘scene’ and know people? Have seen a lot of cool parties on youtube/instagram and would love to attend one or two 🙇🏻‍♂️

if you see it on instagram it's mostly too late because the party is either running or already over. you need to know people or be lucky to meet people who know people.

do you really want to go to a rich geezers house party when you are on holiday in Ibiza?

similar to pre-covid times, if you're doing a big one and aren't careful, the police will be there quickly...

I want neither, nor a house party in Ibiza. Why have what you can have at home when in the Balearics?

hmmm. to be perfectly honest I don't believe lots of the forumers have the opportunity to experience a proper villa party back home where they live. personally I totally get the attraction of a daytime event in nice surroundings, mostly outdoors with fantastic views etc. and often you do get the chance to see/listen to a well known DJ in a small and intimate setup. so yeah, while I do understand the 'rich geezers house' bit, for the rest I absolutely understand why people love villa parties. some of my best party days have been at places like that. and hey, when you're in a club, you're very often actually also surrounded by rich geezers. let's face it, here in ibiza you always have wealthy people around you and it's been like that for decades.

+5 points for double use of "geezers" in the same post

Not for me. It’s not what I go to Ibiza for. I find the pretentiousness associated with the whole thing to be pretty nauseating. But each to their own. It’s just not what I want to do on holiday.

it makes me think you simply haven't caught a really good villa party so far. the best ones have no pretentiousness at all.
but anyway, each to their own of course.

Maybe not. With my attitude to them, I’m probably never going to go to a good one because it’s just not what I want to do in Ibiza or on holiday. The pretentiousness is driven by its exclusivity and aspiration imo.

Yep, noticed that it's way more than last year indeed. And about your second comment...(I know you know this, but as an answer to others) that's the category 'invited'. But there's also category 'paid.' Getting multiple WhatsApp messages from promotors asking entrance money to be admitted to a villa party.
