So true.. some would even try jump from a balcony onto the bus...You can’t be serious! It wouldn’t take long for a young Brit or Irish lad to end up falling over the edge of a open top bus...

Buses are very good options in normal places but in Ibiza I’m not really sure ( don’t think the Vip, wannabe vip ...) will use public transport ?Buses are a good way to improve the traffic Situation on the island

In the past the island was full of scooters and they are much less now imo ..
would be good to have some app where you can rent electric scooter in 3 seconds like in Barcelona , madrid , Lisboa , Roma for example ( eCooltra , YEGO...) but I guess the problem is that ibiza is a tourist place that it’s not working all year around ?

Cars are safer than scooter ... It should not be a problem to create a bus line between San An and Eivissa every 30 min at the day for 6 Euro both ways ... From Eivissa every 30 mins to the beaches and DC10. A weely tourist card for 100 E will be working too ...
Let the Vips be Vips. Money gives no brain.
Should show their Suv and Limos , but I dont care.
Cars are of course safer than scooter yes but they are omnipresent in south of Europe and it’s help a lot the traffic ( can’t imagine for example barcelona without scooter , the traffic is already a nightmare , imagine if everyone change is moto for a car ?)Cars are safer than scooter ... Will help with overcrowding in the clubs too then ??You can’t be serious! It wouldn’t take long for a young Brit or Irish lad to end up falling over the edge of a open top bus...
Remember, the island is in transition from trying to suit everyone to high dollar tourists. It will take a couple of decades and a better tax model but they will achieve the objective if successive governments are able to execute the strategy. However, it will remain necessary to invest in infrastructure regardless.Buses are very good options in normal places but in Ibiza I’m not really sure ( don’t think the Vip, wannabe vip ...) will use public transport ?

About buses: Not sure what everyone's on about here. My experience is that the service is great.
Not to mention the cheeky b@stards who always jump the queue. I've had a right few rows over the yearsSome of the scenes trying to catch the penultimate or last bus back from Cala Bassa or Cala Conta are laughable as well. I wouldn't wish that on a family with little uns.
From my POV the existing bus service and routes are excellent and great value. It's just that there's still lots of the island that is not on a bus route or involves a lengthly journey with changes - Cala d'Hort, Benirras, Cala de Bou where I lived - great if you need to get to San An or San Jose, but otherwise a pain.
How much do people value their time as well? Especially on holiday. If you've got to get 2 buses, you can guarantee it isn't likely the connecting one is going to be waiting for you when you disembark the first.
It's a tricky one as you have to justify the demand, which isn't always going to be there even in much of the summer.

Then by the time you have a group of 3 adults, suddenly getting a taxi or taking a car just seems more economical (even in the cases when it technically isn't)
To properly explore the island, you still need a car.
But the issue of congestion isn't in the far reaches of the island, but the towns

It's a holiday/vacation... Who the hell wants to drive..Personnaly, I never rent any car in Ibiza and rarely to any other trip. To me avoiding driving on vacation is the true essence of vacation. We always book our hotel in Figueretes, so easy walk to PDB or the old town. We only use the bus to go to San An. If not we use a cab to go to beaches and, of course, for clubbing (cost us around 50 euros per day, way better than renting a stupid car).

@kimajyMakes no fun to drive in Ibz , especially in the high season. If you are in Figueretes you really dont need a car. There is a bus to Salinas , no Problem. Cavallet is a problem , but with car too ... Sometimes went with car to Amnesia and had to go with taxi to hotel. Next day back to Amnesia with bus or cab because the car. Expensive
You can stop at Can Tixedo, just before Salines to get to Es Cavallet. It involves a bit of a walk but very easy to reach from there.Makes no fun to drive in Ibz , especially in the high season.
