*** ibiza gossip 2019 ***

Aye i mentioned this in cocoon thread. Digital posting ‘grab your tickets this will sell out’ but they’re still on second release!

Ah the good old 'first release has sold out!!' trick, when the first release was 5 tickets to the promoters brothers & sisters and best mate :D

Wonder if Sven doing Cocoon in the park in Leeds just a few weeks later has had an impact.

We all know that is the case for first release / advanced but there is four tiers of tickets for this event more to the point. Nah citp wont effect it imo majority going to citp wont be going for sven half of them wont know who is is!

Yeah its nice to discover other artists you wouldn't normally if you just randomly go without looking at lineups, but I want Ibiza to have total domination with both new, trendy, and existing old hat artists. These festival options annoy me to no end and I want Ibiza to not only kill the dance scene, but every other genre of music too.

This is the "party capital of the world" and should have everyone playing. You guys understand that in my own Toronto rave boards, barely anyone talks about Ibiza? That's pathetic!! I can't stand these stupid festival options taking over where every DJ is disposable!

I mean how dare these upstart rivals offer clubbers unrestricted open air nightclubbing! The scoundrels!

Competition's good. Forces ibz to up its game

The problem is Ibiza haven't upped their game and they really need to!

Yes, and in fact they've going in reverse from their previously high standards. Closing times (e.g. West End), timing restrictions for alcohol sales in shops, open air partying being limited as well etc. Plus the hotel prices keep getting jacked up for renovations that should have been there to begin with like 10 years ago lol. The competition has an easy time really.

This place is gonna be Disney Land soon ( reference to De Niro describing Vegas at the end of Casino).

But anyways how bout them lineups?!

Up the toon!

Sven in 2 weeks too... although not sure if it’ll go ahead or be rescheduled, ticket sales look slow :(

Ahh. I wouldn't worry. This is symptomatic of how the public holiday dates fall this year in the UK. Late Easter means four bank hols in the space of 6-weeks! And, generally speaking, peeps only plan the next one ahead. Now Easter is out the way, I suspect they will pick up! Especially after payday.

We have Roger Sanchez in my town. (Not the safest of bookings, relatively speaking) Was on first release still until last week. Now flying out.

Regarding the VIVa Warriors rumours - it's being heavily promoted online by the team behind Capadi Rebels AKA Rebel's Cave/Land, who of course hosted a Warriors date at Benimussa last summer. Arguably their most successful date during a challenging season.
They also held a Sankeys residency in 2017 before moving to Benimussa last year...

Ibiza hasn’t been the ‘party capital of the world’ for years. The number of people who actively avoid and bad mouth the place these days is sad.

Numbers will keep on dropping and the big clubs will go back to closing on some nights during the week.

Party to be announced today... Retro party at Eden? I've seen some well known Belgian retro-house djs posting this yesterday...

The tourism went in a wrong direction , they want a change. Too much All In brings nothing to the local business. Drunken kiddies brings nothing , except trouble and bad press. And so on ...

Fair enough, you have a deeper knowledge of them than I do! I just find them a bit cold... and boring, bar a couple of tunes. I've seen them live once.
Apart from the handful of tunes I mentioned and maybe a couple of ot

Thing is all those things you talk about drew attention and then everyone started getting involved, Ibiza was known as a place where the parties never stop, you could go to clubs constantly without sleep, you could get any drug you wanted etc.. once that sort of reputation starts its hard to get rid of it, but as we all know the government and other official bodies have tried to change that, even saying they want to change the type of tourist that comes to the island. I remember when I first heard about Space, and I thought to myself, clubbing in the afternoon, that doesnt sound very good! lol

dixon is the litmus test this summer - if anything not so much whether people like the music (almost an afterthought these days) but more to do with whether the RA market or 'culture' can translate to IBZ. As Dirk said, there is a stigma in certain circles around IBZ and so it will be interesting to see if Dixon can break that in enticing the dekmantel and croatia kids back OR whether it will require huge changes in how IBZ markets itself - either way, the competition is real, it is everywhere and nobody has a monopoly anymore.
