I may be over critical of Hyte but this isnt all that exciting to me: Liebing, Loco Dice and Pan-Pot along with fellow residents Cuartero and Caleb Calloway. Guests throughout the year will include DJ Harvey, Radio Slave, Marcel Dettmann ,Floorplan, Len Faki, Maya Jane Coles, Bambounou and John Talabot, plus Schwarzmann, the collaboration between Henrik Schwarz & Âme. An exclusive appearance from Caribou.

Liebing is always solid as well as Dettman and I am a big big Len Faki fan but how many dates will Dettman and Faki really do? Other than that the most interesting dj there for me is Cuartero who's sound doesnt necessarily fit to me. I guess will wait to see official lineups but I still think Paradise lineups reign supreme for Wednesdays and Im not even a fan of Jamie Jones.

Yeah I dunno didn't go to hyte last year but you've got to cut them some slack, this is pretty solid for year 2. Last year programming looked a little wonky but if they can iron out little things like that it is a solid base to build on. They've just got to get on with it and try and stay out of the Amnesia tech night politics...

my first reaction regarding hyte this year is:

+ second year, brand is known by now, that alone should help them a fair bit
+ FUSE involvement could be a good thing too
+ a few interesting acts again musically - harvey, schwarzmann, caribou live...

- they lost plex and still have to grow massively this year
- same as last year, I can't see a lot of actual crowd pullers in that line up. interesting acts for sure, but they have to fill amnesia wednesday after wednesday

one last thought - with enter gone, hyte might get some of that artist roster to play for them...could help too.

This to me is one of the most interesting factors of the season, where a lot of these artists will end up. My thought is that will become a little more clear once Thursday night at Space is announced.

thing is though, if you think about it - the 'real' enter roster were a handful of artists only. richie, gaiser, hobo, matador and maybe one or two more. all the rest of the artists that played enter last year weren't exclusive to them and most of them played multiple venues in ibiza last year.

Very true, my thought was mainly it would just free up more time for some of them. I also thought Apollonia would be part of Hyte this year, seems they likely do a few more dates with Carola for Music On based on recent occurrences.

Imo it's weaker than last year and also Paradise is growing and growing; so wouldn't expect much from HYTE this season.

Personally like the look of some of those guests, certainly be interesting to see how this season compares to their first

paradise can't grow much more anymore IMO. they've reached peak last summer and they can certainly stay at that, but grow? there's literally no room for them to grow. they can do a longer season yes, but for them it'll be all about being just as busy as last year.

I do think hyte will grow - the question is, will they grow enough.

HYTE could be a nice alternative to Paradise both musically and in terms of clientele. Paradise being very english heavy probably means germans, italians, spanish and dutch might prefer HYTE.

I believe this was the case last year, which begs the question of going with a maybe better lineup or better party atmosphere... Last year i preferred Paradise lineups almost every week and i went for the opening (which granted was the opening) but it was pretty brutal just finding an inch of space to move never mind dance.

Never been to DC 10.

Is it as busy as say Carl Cox main room?

depends what party.

until a few years ago, circoloco was always rammed.
last year it changed and, especially for the first half of the season, circoloco was comfy busy until about midnight and only got really packed from then until close. august and september circoloco was very busy again then generally. but paradise was packed week in week out, just as busy as when coxy plays the main room at space.
