I was there in July last year & couldn't get anywhere near the terrace or main room when I arrived at 10.30.
We just danced right at the front entrance to the terrace & eventually got some room after several attempts at around 2am.

Yes I was there in June and it was very comfy busy. I could move around everywhere and dance in my space (right up front at the terrace with Dixon and Tale Of Us). Worried about July, more busy it is, easier it is for thieves to jack you.
As a side note, midway through my trip it got boring staring at the DJ and I ended up looking the opposite direction towards the crowd which was way more fun and made for more interaction.

if I'm out I look at the DJ maybe once every 10 mins or so - for a few seconds. else I'm almost always dancing with my back towards the dj because, as you say, interaction with other people is far better. I'm almost never standing completely facing the DJ.

Personally, I do find the Big Man (Solomun) an exception to this. When he's in Pacha he's almost too commanding, and find I look at him / dance with him more than any other DJ. Reading that back sounds a bit weird.... But I'm sure you get what I mean haha.

that surely has to do with the fact that he's literally standing in the middle of the club and not at the far end of the room.

I like the centre booth better. It doesn't make it feel all about the DJ and makes more about the party (even tho the DJ is Solomun). Besides, the eye candy in Pacha is better than the DJ lol.
I guess in general you wanna be looking at the performer but DJs are pretty boring, and I think it would be cool if this scene changed so that the DJ is off to the side or something but now I'm getting off to a bigger tangent

Oh of course the centre is best but just once I'd like to see it so see just how different it would be if he were in the other one. Just me thinking too much haha.

Perfect example (from a couple of videos I've watched) was Hawtin playing in B'ham weekend just gone. Absolutely no emotion/movement even when he dropped a decent tune!

but, seriously now, if the music is good - who cares? dixon is another of those pretty 'stiff' DJs yet everyone loves him. not everyone will be like sven, luciano or solomun.
The end in London was an amazing club for having the booth in the middle of the dance floor - great vibes.
On another subject.......with Timewarp being this weekend, does that mean we get cocoon lineups next week?
Also - is there any news of Music On coming back?

I like the concept of the takeovers at Insane - They running with this concept all season?

Yes. I think its all takeovers this season (though I am not 100% sure). Seems to have worked very well at Pacha Barcelone with the Insane/FACT takeovers during the winter. So far they have chosen very well I think!
7 Vagabundos (Luciano) take-overs
3 Area 10 (MK) take-overs
3 Knee Deep In Ibiza(Hot Since 82) take-overs
