IBIZA FIGHT - WEDGIE!

Rye,it seems you are always with a group of friends, and when you saw it you prefered filming than seperating them?can you explain it?

I may put out a video on my channel to help shed further light on the matter
Whilst I was filming I was on my back foot ready to move in very quickly however please know that out of camera there was tourists and locals all stood watching prior to the fight...I think due to the fact the bus driver slapped the kid first and it was totally unexpected we all sort of backed away a bit baffled...

You may watch that recording and feel the bus driver is under attack and trying to defend him self but if you watch...He has no intention of backing off. Look at the end of the video he was trying to be pulled away but he refused and was intent on giving that lad a good hiding.... Only I don't think he expected the female to be attacking him also

I think my biggest concern getting into a ruck with someone in those shorts would be ending up on the floor with a set of nuts in my face. No one wants to get knocked out and tea bagged in the space of 30 seconds

If rye stepped in With his little short shorts the bus driver might have thought he was in some Superhero movie..
The short shorts could cause some severe chaffing in a wedgie situation.

Plus I wouldn't go near that bird wearing one of rye's vests. If she's down to boot you in the nuts from behind then wedgie you, she's likely to think nothing of a nipple-twist.

As a guiri in Spain, is that honestly a serious question ? Any idea how much some of the perceived "locals" (using the term loosely as most of them are not actually Ibicenos nor permanently resident on the island) are looking for any excuse to kick the living daylights out of a "foreigner" in the peak of the August hypertension during a heatwave ? Honestly, I never thought I would actually feel compelled to spell that out.!

This is one of the biggest points made....we all said this afterwards as well as I said I should have jumped in right at the start but if I jumped in and held one back while they were lashing out and the Guardia turn up with their bats. Who do you think they would have gone for? The bus driver who started the fight? The Spaniard lad or the beefy brit?

Exactly, imagine the uproar on here if two Spaniards were having a row and a British bloke in a vest weighs in. Not to mention the hiding Rye would of taken off the Guardia....

I think they were all off to Benimussa and very likely not the same crowd you'd find choosing a holiday in Magaluf. The same crowd who fill the superclubs of the island at astronomic expense every night more likely ;)

I agree with you but honestly, where have you been for the last 20 years ? That sort of thing has been going on in Ibiza for well over a decade in pockets. It's only very rarely that the truth is actually shown so publically. Just because it doesn't paint a halcyon portrait of Ibiza is no reason it can't be shown if it's real life. It's equally important though that the other side is as accurately portrayed - I'll try to at least do my little bit on that front soon. But I doubt anyone is remotely interested in sensationalizing peace, harmony and nature !

Listen l totally understand what you are saying and believe me l know it goes on there / everywhere but bottom line is know one likes to see a fit especially during holidays. Sad to see l guess.

.... as I understand it taking into account the local news response.... he's not a permanent driver and was probably drafted in to provide extra services as the number of parties on the island (and people) reaches its maximum peak. He's apparently being awkward shrugging his shoulders when asked whether the bus is going to Benimussa after the control room is sending people there, likely out in 38 degrees in the shade. Lad establishes with control room it really is the right bus to get on - already past its scheduled departure time - and is told yes. Tells everyone it's indeed good to get on despite the driver's less than helpful demeanour. Bus driver loses his rag feeling resentful at being undermined, and decides to take out his frustration by physically assaulting him - likely with an authority complex. Entirely plausible and if he had really been doing his job it seems to me very likely the whole incident would never have happened in the first place as the lad would have been dealt with differently. Indeed maybe the bus would have actually left on time already .

Agree also but guess as you say he reached his limit (unbearable heat) and took it out on the punter- Don't know the reason as wasn't there.

If you were trying to get on a bus and the driver lamped you one, I'm pretty sure for many people it would solicit a response in kind. There's been no explanation put out in the Spanish press or anywhere else for what caused the bus driver to assault the guy. Perhaps there is no defensible explanation.

People are so quick to assume that the punter is the one to blame here, a symbol of all that is evil because he fits the stereotype of everything they hate about the younger generation of clubbing clientele - and of course he MUST be drunk or on drugs and have done something unforgiveable to deserve the slapping he got from the driver which started the whole thing. Again no proof of that whatsoever, pure speculation. For all anyone knows the driver may have previous for a violent temperament and/or "mistaken" the [paying] punter for his own kid. Having seen some of the behaviour of "Security" on the island over the last 5 years I'm pretty certain that a thorough background check is not always high on the list of priorities of certain recruiters. So I'd personally prefer to step back and think about the context before jumping to conclusions.

As far as the brawl is concerned it's the Spanish girl who weighed in more than anyone. That is no surprise at all either is it really - her BF got assaulted before the clip started, has a huge size disadvantage versus the driver and is clearly not coming out of the situation well. So she got stuck in. Well, he's her boyfriend not the cameraman's and she did what any hot blooded Spanish girl would have very likely done too in those circumstances !

Guess it's not if Rye jumped in or who beat the sh@te out of who that counts. Sad to see and plenty of fights in Dublin so well used to trouble in front of my eyes. It can happen anywhere and Ibiza is full of daily madness, just happened to get caught on camera. No fear there'll something else tomorrow!

So .... it seems as if the bus driver is portraying himself as the defenceless innocent when in fact he threw the first blow. Are you up for giving evidence in the proceedings then @Life of Rye ?
Guess by reading it the both sides made complaints, if we heard from the other party, they would say the opposite. Tit for tat, sad to see either way.

what i'm hearing is...
-case of gender violence: she was getting all sorts of abuse and the bus driver tried to defend her but in the end both attacked him

what i'm saying is...
-bus drivers are used to deal with idiots on a daily basis so to react like that you really have to push them to the max
-ibiza 2017 will be remembered as the year in which "tourism phobia" (something i never heard of before) became a common expression
