ibiza 2019 observations

Driving under the influence affects your ability to drive and that includes the morning after. We should not be trivialising it.

We cannot control external things like drunk pedestrians or other drivers but we certainly can control driving under the influence.

What about it you commute 1hr to work... work a 12hr night shift then commute 1hr home? That can be like you're drunk driving yet this is totally legal.

Ha. Very true.
I could sink 12 cups of ginger-infused black coffee (or red bull) before I get behind the wheel, kill a bunch of school kids and my sobriety wouldn't be questioned.
But one bump of coke, and it's game over.

There’s surely no debate here, any drug or drink driving is madness and in my book deserves a long driving ban and fine. No ifs or buts.

Absolutely. But where do you draw the line - especially with legal, everyday drugs? (Or sleep deprivation?)

Where I live in the UK is an accident black spot. Aside from the all too frequent loss of life, if there's an incident it f***s the roads for an entire day.
If you're sitting in it in your commute, you can forget getting to work or even back home at a sensible time. Thousands of people. Untold figures in lost business hours.
Of course, this always happens just before or during rush hour, when people have just gotten out of bed and jumped in their car at an unholy hour after having the rigmarole of that commute 5 days a week.

BODYWORKS closing last night. My first visit this summer, though judging by reports this one followed suit: packed.

Music not to my taste, but it's simply currently what's popular. Crowd, young. I was solo and out of place. FISHER - I find him a pretty obnoxious character, though I suspect that is part of his shtick - but he had the club room in the palm of his hand, and it was bursting.

So, not for me (but no surprises there) but it's true that BODYWORKS has been arguably the biggest runaway success of summer 2019.

It also had an atmosphere... unlike Thursdays. But I should get over that now

Hey, I'm honestly intrigued to know and understand why you went to a night that you admit isn't to your taste and also had apparently a young crowd and you in fact felt out of place...... surely not just cos it was popular.

of course, you're free to do whatever you want when you want, but as a promoter, I'd most likely suggest you go to a different party cos it'd be a long shot that you'd have fun at mine.

BODYWORKS has been good yes and they've definitely secured that young UK-mainly crowd with the headline acts. But there have been other contenders for success of 2019, depends how you define it.

Also Fisher, why obnoxious? He's an artist in the entertainment industry paid to perform so what do you expect..........and as you obviously are aware of yourself cos you saw how busy it was, despite it not being to your taste.........it's irrelevant if you think he's obnoxious and if you feel strongly, then don't go and see him.

I still can't get my head around the going to a club when you know you won't like the music thing though.......did you enjoy yourself? do you have fun?

It’s his job :p

You could argue Musicon Pacha with Destino chucked in as been the big success.... only in away musicon on a Thursday night isn't exactly a new night.

Ha! It's okay @grego I think I've posted many a comment I've instantly regretted, and far more that have ended up that way after time for digestion.

Haha cool. It wasn't so much instant regret, knowing I might be wrong and ploughing on anyway and not regretting it.

so, who do you work for and what do you do?

For sure Music On

Guetta at Hi you have to include.

Saga at Heart is smashing it, as are both glitter box and defected.

Obviously slightly biased but it's hard to look past Resistance, for the sheer numbers we did and also sustaining a party that isn't based solely on one single headliner each week.

Guetta at ushuaia, solomun, el row, afterlife, also super busy.

True, not illegal to do but if you doze off at at the wheel and kill someone it will not be deemed as an accident and Youl be done for death by dangerous driving.
