i drive to work (250miles p/w) via back roads. (average about 40mpg)

if i get stuck in traffic on the main rds it goes down to nearer 30mpg. :?
That's insane. Why do you live so far from work?

its only 40mins by car.

if i was still working in London, would have taken me anything from and hour to 2 hours by public transport. AND cost me twice as much as what im paying for petrol with tickets etc...

That's only 25 miles each way per day. Not a sprint but hardly a marathon. Well ok almost exactly a marathon, but you know what I mean

I wouldnt really consider that far at all, I know lots of people up here who do around 100 miles per day. Couldnt be doing it myself though ;)

but who wants to use public transport these days??

Its overpriced, filthy, unreliable, and you dont know who's sitting next to you with a backpack..... 8O

Give me a fuel guzzling car anyday of the week...... better that than a stressed out Puppy at work 5 days a week

If I dont have the car, I use a taxi to work....

My current work is only 18 miles away, and I go by car. Time can vary alot though, from around 20 minutes up to an hour during rush hour.

Bloody traffic

I guess I'm spoiled... I live 5 km (3.5 miles?) from work. 10 minute taxi ride with traffic 8)

You all have really nice cars. One question. How do you drive them around with the gas prices being so high???

My work is 120 miles from my house

But the Freelander has LPG - 30p per litre instead of 85p!

;)

Tell me about it. The bus went under the underpass this morning and there was a loud bang, of course people start screaming and panicking, we get out the other side, the bus driver pulls over and comes round to tell everyone its ok, some idiot had left a shopping trolley and he'd hit it. 8O   Did give me a bit of a fright under the current climate tho I dont mind admitting

My current transport since January 04, imported from Japan in Sept 03, Toyota Celica GT4........top speed around 145-150mph...... and 20mpg 8O
Err........... yes I have got a set of 17" alloys, but need a pair of tyres, no point in getting a ticket for vanity.

Needs lots of tlc to finish it........ one day........one day.........
Going on ebay soon, can't be arsed to finish it now I've got the GT4.

Wanted a Type R but Road Tax and VRT in Ireland dictated otherwise :( so I settled for a 1.6 SE Sport :D Must get round to putting a Type R kit on it ;)

How'd you get on with the odd placed gear stick?

We've got one of those as one of our pool cars at work and the gear stick pisses me right off.
