The joys of living in Spain

I know! And they're allowed to take a few hours break in the afternoons for a nap the lazy beggars!

Oi, I take exception to that  Its hard living and working in 40 degrees heat, then going out socialising till whatever time. You try it every day without a power nap in the afternoon ;)

Yeah yeah it must be so hard living in that nice sunshine, with a beach round the corner, the sea breeze whistling through your office

Seriously though, a power nap is great! I quite often have an illegal siesta in the afternoons myself! Zzzzz  ;)

There was an article in the paper yesterday that said there is a group in Spain trying to get the working hours over in Spain changed.

It said that (is this correct Syl?) that a normal work day is 8am-8pm with a 3 hour break in the middle.

Whilst I'd quite like the 3 hour lunch break don't think I'd fancy the 8pm finish

Offices usually do 9-14 16-19, it's acually my regular working hours
I worked in a business that had the three hours at lunch and it was a pain. Two hours are fine, I usually go to the gym or meet friends for lunch. But to be honest, most people would die for shorter working days, in my enterprise the staff are trying to get flexible times but I don't think we'll get it.

BTW, the siesta break is a legend, the two-three hours break for lunch comes cos lunch is our main meal of the day and cos in summer it was impossible to work during the central hours of the day when the air con was a luxury thing

I never understood why we don't have siesta in Brazil... It's hot most of the year, air con used to be a luxury (and still is to a lot of people), but still we only get one hour lunch and no siesta, no matter how hot it might be.
