a little bird told me that, apart from a new bar, they also want to do apartments above. as you can see in this picture taken some hours ago the remaining walls have been demolished too :!:

half a year since the name's up on the facade and still nothing going on in there ! !

the new babylon is ready to be rented out but they want far too much money for it :!:

it has a ground floor bar (entrance opposite golden gate), an impressive basement club of 260m2 (entrance on the corner of the building) and a top floor bar (entrance opposite colon). the lay out is really bad though..... so much space wasted on corridors to the toilets and on staff toilets that the stock room is the size of a large toilet cubicle. they have also put a pillar right in front of the dj box so that his view is obscured for half of the dancefloor.....

:arrow: according to UH, all the locals behind keeper in ibiza nueva have been bought by a society (that includes the owner of keeper) which plans to give a complete facelift to this popular nightlife spot refurbishing, knocking down in some case, the existing bars (irma's, el encuentro, etc) and opening quality re$taurant$, $hop$, etc :!:

as you might remember, theres a spectacular new building by the famous architect jean nouvel planned for the land just next so the value of the land is now even higher. btw, the up-marketing of the area has started already turning the laundry next to the disappeared after hours wine bar into the hairdressers gasset.....

:arrow: according to DDI, the catalan artist lluis güell never had the chance to finish completely his work at cafe del mar due to the already-strict-back-then coastal authorities, who didnt let him do the piers and fountains planned in front. the very interesting article also reveals that he thought the governmental order devaluated es paradis as it was conceived to be open air and that lately he didnt consider summum one of his creations anymore since he found out his work was covered with paint :!:

as you might remember, he died two years ago.....

as you can imagine after seeing the big hole below, plastik cant be back to the west end this summer because the building work wont be finished :!:

apparently they dont know yet what to do next year. although they retain the right to first refusal on the west end location, after their very profitable season in the new location they were talking about not bothering with it.....

apparently gatecrasher is in talks with space for next summer :!:

as you might remember, they were there in 2000.....

:arrow: according to DDI, there will be more 5-star hotels than what we expected..... the list at the moment goes like this:

· na xamena in san miguel
· insotel fenicia prestige in siesta, santa eulalia
· mirador de dalt vila in dalt vila
· ibiza gran hotel in ibiza nueva - summer 2008
· aguas de ibiza in cas capità, santa eulalia - summer 2008
· grand hotel palladium in siesta, santa eulalia - summer 2008 (4-star turned into 5-star)
· cala xinxó in the bay - summer 2009 or 2010
· s'argamassa palace in s'argamassa, santa eulalia - summer 2009 or 2010 (4-star turned into 5-star)
· playa real in talamanca - summer 2010 (3-star turned into 5-star)

as you might remember, this week it was announced theres another one projected in san antonio.....

apparently tongy and pacha are not on good terms now as he has tried, without much luck, to take all the line-ups/djs with him to eden :!::!:

in related news, apparently groove armada will host the back room on fridays.....

:arrow: the cafe/pastry shop la gourmandise in ctra san josé (next to the pottery shop hellas), which opened some months ago, will expand into the local next door to also offer food to take away, etc :!:

veryveryvery nice sweets there.....
