Friends of the Round Table
Dear Friends,
We have a problem. The bar we know and love; where we have partied, celebrated, held wakes, held fund-raisers and gossiped is now under threat. The buildings on either side have been demolished for re-development and in the process a gaping hole was put in the roof and rubble covered tables, chairs and floor and as bad luck would have it, it rained before repairs could be made. David set to and had the bar open for business again only to be advised by the site foreman that the building may have been rendered unsafe. The crowd of us in the bar at the time had just "one more for the road" and left.
And so…The Round Table was closed and a sorry sight it was when next a few of us visited. The ladies loo was occupied by chunks of plaster and rubble and the beam over the bar was supported by four rusty ackrows.
The Round Table remains closed to this day and appears to be on the endangered species list. There is some dispute between David and the builders and no mention of compensation, but the fact remains that the bar needs repair and refurbishment and David´s sole source of income has dried up. He has made a denuncia against the builders and therefore needs funds for legal and professional advice. We regulars have formed a committee to raise funds and would be mightily grateful if you, dear reader, could make a donation either at the office of the New Ibiza Sun or the Fishermans bar in San Antonio. Help from the New Ibiza Sun´s UK and European readership would also be greatly appreciated. We will acknowledge all donations and a list will be published. Please Help.

· comic in figueretas
graham & lisa's in playa den bossa (opposite the apartments tivoli) has turned into the italian restaurant il piccolo giardino
today diario de ibiza includes another of their ads..... probably a reaction to the illegal party at cala jondal last saturday:since last christmas there are, at least, two new billboards around ibiza town of the asociación de empresarios de salas de fiesta, discotecas y similares de baleares recommending party peeps to have fun without drugs
btw, various people told me at the end of december they also placed an ad in one of the local newspapers recommending people to attend to the venues that belong to the association instead of the "illegal ones" for security reasons, etc. sadly i missed the ad but i bet it was well funny.....
