Going to Berghain alone

Cor that is brutal! Last thing id like to know is what actually stops anyone taking a little 15 second video inside just to prove you got in?

the lenses of your cameras (mobile phones) get covered with stickers at the entrance so you can't take pics or videos. if you take the stickers off and take a vid/pic and a bouncer sees it, you're out very quickly.

What's the deal with Berghain/Panorama Bar on Fridays and how does it compare to there main event on Saturday/Sundays, thinking of heading over to give it a try soon and was going to attempt going Friday as well to boost the chances! Is it the exact same strictness to get in and I'm right in saying on panorama bar is open?

If so how does the club operate because I thought to get to Panorama Bar you had to go through Berghain and upstairs?
 
saturday is the "big" klubnacht, running from saturday midnight to approx. monday noon. the berghain floor is the hard one (techno), the panorama bar focus mostly on house and techno (but also acts like maceo plex play there - so it depends how you define "hard")

fridays sound depends on the event with all kind of possible music (can be residents, label nights...)- nevertheless it's always high quality. seveal weeks ago they opened a new floor for more dark and experimental stuff (afaik 1x friday per month). and don't worry - there are ways to panaroma bar without going through the berghain floor.

I often heard that it's easier to get in on friday, but I cannot judge this. moreover i heard that it's easier to come "back" on saturday you already were there on friday and have a stamp...

Thanks that's really helpful! Yeah I can see the Friday nights feature a lot more minimal focused DJs and that's right up my street so ill deffo try going on a Friday first and see what happens!

If all goes well I'll try going back late Sunday morning to have the the proper berghain experience!

Not expecting to get in, but you gotta try right? Aiming to go at either around 11am on Sunday morning, or 3-4pm in the afternoon.

If I was you id try both! Might be worth doing what was said above and going on a Friday which is apparently a little easier! If you get in and get the stamp and keep that on you should have a much better chance come Sunday afternoon, let me know how you get on I really want to go!!
 
Keri chandler is playing Friday at watergate so we're aiming to check that out, but if that fails, perhaps we'll try out Berghain.

Fair enough! Yeah try get there if not move to the next, going berlin is like a giant game of musical chairs! Keep on moving until you find somewhere that lets you in! I'm just worried I look way to young and English to get in anywhere!

Yep, my beard is coming in nicely, should be strong by the end of May.

I'm 30 on Monday but could easily pass for 23-24.

First visit we showed up very late to the finest friday party with Mano Le Tough and Michael Graccioppo @ panorama, maybe 7-8 AM saturday morning. My girl and I walked right up to the door and were quickly told to try and come back in the evening. We had spoken with Michael the week before to try and get list but it was full...we decided to pretend we were on the list and after being denied we blurted out his name and told them we were on the list. The 3 at the door looked at us puzzled and said he has already played and the party was ending, we told them our flight was delayed and we were hoping to stop in quick. After a pretend look at some papers (assuming the list was long destroyed from a night of party) they came back and said the list is closed so we must pay 8 Euro each. We looked at each other and held back our smiles and of course said yes. We spent an hour and a half dancing around to a resident dj. Came back that night around 1AM, all of our crew got denied except us probably due to the stamps and the ol counting with your thumb first (two is thumb and pointer finger), all black gear and being silent while waiting in line. Will never forget the my first 24 hours in berlin.
