Going to Berghain alone

So I keep hearing about their door policy and how you should act, how many should be in your group, you shouldn't speak English, I should dress sort of cool etc etc

I've been to Ibiza several times on my own.... many times met up with people... but in Berlin I'd just be showing up on my own.

How realistic is it, that as a female on my own I'm going to get in? I hear a guy/girl combination is the best.

Anyway, I haven't planned anything yet.. just thinking about it, but don't know if it is pointless or not to try. Nowhere else am I worried about getting in.. but I just keep hearing stories of how people get turned away all the time!

Thanks! :)

i so knew this would be by you when i saw the thread title.

i think people who go on their own generally get in ok.

 Why?? Is it because I always end up doing everything on my own??

I just keep hearing stories of normal people showing up in small groups, or only a couple, quiet, not being obnoxious... and they still don't get in.

Maybe I need to stop buying my clothes at the 'junior trendsetters" or " young miss" section.

Do I need to look cool?

Also, it's one thing to do Ibiza on my own (where I always end up meeting others before I go to a club anyway AND there is no such door policy) but a random night in Berlin?? Meh... I don't know!!

I have the same fear of the push back and I speak German fluently

You'll be fine on your own - you're more likely to get in if going solo. If you're that worried, go online and buy a tresor tee and practice your moody queue face in the mirror.

i reckon u will have a better chance and getting turned away is only annoying for about 15 mins. theres plenty to do in berlin

So why do you think I'll have a better chance alone? Is there a time to go where you have a better chance of going?

I haven't planned my trip yet... nor am i 100% sure i'm going.. it's just that my cousin is getting married in Berlin and if I do go I want somewhere to continue on after the reception!

and I really want to go to this club too!

How moody and cool do I need to look??

Also, has anyone managed to change their minds if they don't let you in? Or when they see you and don't like the look of you, you're pretty much screwed!

well purely on the fact hat me n caz went at bout 09.30am om their record label birthday and weere told "u need to go somewehere else". Having met u briefly i cant yhink of a reason why u wouldnt get in apart from the standard randomness. check the listings theres lots going on besides le bergs haha. a couple in front of us walked straight in. we got stopped , my gcse grade a german was not enough. but no queue at that time

Briefly? I think we partied a good 10 hours that day
Still some of the funniest Ibiza photos I have!

I was going to say... I thought it was more then briefly as well!

On a side note, speaking of photos, I had a very sad moment the other day... I was transferring all my photos from 2 computers, a laptop... basically ALL my photos and videos since 2003 on to an external drive. Yes, I know I should have saved elsewhere, but that was the plan. My external drive that I transferred ALL my photos on to chose that moment to die. When I took it in to be fixed, they said there was nothing i could do, but gave me the number of a forensic place where I could go, but it might not work and could cost thousands.

So I've lost thousands of photos of all my travels since 2003. I cried for a bit!

wtf was i writing there????

thats the worst new about hard drives etc we had a client in the other day exact same situation balling her eyes out cos she lost a load of stuf.....she got it back tho . i really hope theres a happy ending tho your photo saga.x

*edt - ah! worked it out , for a while my fb profile pic was me from one of your photo's looking like a douche. can also bee seen as my spotlight pic. Will be checking who the last visitors to my profile are haha lurkers bware

I had one of the Zoo nights as my fb profile pic for a while too. I think I was wearing some glasses and a moustache!

re: the photos... I'm hoping I can get it back.. I just need to find a forensic place, but am afraid of the cost! It's only about 6 years of living overseas, 30 or so countries and EVERY photo for the past 8 years!

that was a fun afternoon , shame about the rain but the drinks were stronnnnng!
Sangria!!!!!
(and yes... I checked your profile pic ;))

Meryl - good luck with your photos! I'm totally paranoid about that happening. I've got everything backed up in 3 places! (plus some of the best photos online on my website)

Hotel currently booked for Sept 17-27. Need to sort out plane tix soon.
Will just miss you, Marc!
