Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

Yes, you can. It's the UK government that require this test, not the Spanish or Balearic. It still needs to be done via a proper supplier though, with results QR'ed and linked to the individual. The free lateral flow tests won't be accepted
Good news! Time to start checking prices....

You'll be fine. You aren't alone in worrying about it, but you do have the advantage of this resource giving you a head's up about what to do and what to expect.

The airport and airline staff are being very understanding and accommodating, they know this is all new and daunting to most travellers.

As a few people have mentioned further up, predictably, some people are turning up to the airport in a sorry state from the night before and still managing to board their flights with the help of staff. I'm not advising anybody does that, but if they are managing, I truly think you will be fine
That's really reassuring! However the risk of being told to self isolate and the difficulties around that (food, accommodation, flight home, insurance etc) just about trump everything else. The good news is being retired I don't have to worry about not turning up for work; but even so....

As alluded to; when things are quiet over the winter might just try a 72-hour turnaround in somewhere like Sitges or Bloody Torremolinos so I know I'm coming home, and out there I can take my time sorting out what's going on and arrive at the airport with plenty of time. Once that's out of the way, maybe next year we won't need a return test if fully vaxxed?

Not much going from Manchester in early autumn; most flights are dead early meaning a test the evening before is wasting 12 hours. Gonna try Gatwick, stopover there and take my test before I go. Prob for Gibraltar rather than Ibiza if it's late Oct.

Anyone know if tests are available at Gatwick as they are Manchester? EDIT Yes there is, next to costa Coffee T2.

LAMP results are normally delivered within 2 hours.

Antigen Lateral Flow test results are normally delivered within 30 minutes.

Are both of those acceptable on return to the UK within the 72-hour framework?

From the UK's government webby;

Travel from Spain and its islands - if you are travelling to England from Spain, including the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands (Formentera, Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca), you are advised to take a PCR type test before travel.

That's not helpful - it "advises" which means theoretically the other two tests would be sufficient??

Is it any bloody wonder I'm confused??!!

If you have both jabs, you don't need to take a test before leaving the UK, there's currently no requirement from the Spanish authorities for entry to Spain. You do need to complete the Spanish entry locator form. Details here: https://www.spth.gob.es/

To come back to the UK, you need one negative test on the island before you come back (PCR or antigen), and to have already booked a Day 2 PCR test- you'll need the reference number to put on your returning UK locator form, details here: https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk

I will add though, might be a good idea to do an NHS lateral flow (or even PCR) test before you leave to be sure that you aren't travelling with the 'rona, as that would properly shit on your holiday. Also make sure you get some insurance that covers you for as much 'rona related shiz as possible

I bought a C19 lateral flow test to do here before I fly back to the UK - did this yesterday got my negative certificate. However the time on the certificate is in UK and not Spanish so it's 1 hour outside the 72 hour window... I assume it's best to get another test and certificate?

i just used days count back not hrs...i fly back on a Monday pm did test on a Friday am.....never thought of the actual time. Had no problems.

The government website says 3 days.

I stressed over this last week as we were flying back from at holiday at 01:55am (terrible flight time) and hotel said 72hrs, as do many website.

BORING bus question.....

My potential flight arrives at 1750 on the 9th October- as the Line 9 bus will be in winter mode (not running!)- am I looking at a hop into Eivissa and then a Line 8 to get me to San An Bay?

In previous years, I'd have got a car, but it's silly expensive still, even in October, particularly when it's just little old me.

I was looking at doing a similar thing in June before the line 9 started running. Thankfully the service started just before I flew out.

You might be lucky though - the starting and ending dates on the bus timetables sometimes change and are extended.
According to the tib website the summer timetable for line 9 runs to the 31st Oct. Don’t take this as gospel though!

Line 9 Route and Timetable

I’ll also be there in Oct - hoping to get the 9 bus from San An to the airport on the 11th. If not, I’ll prob use your plan - but the line 3 into Eivissa. Not sure about lugging a large suitcase (and more) on a standard bus though.

I would recommend ordering the Day 2 test in advance as they seem to be taking longer to arrive at present.

We’ve used Randox for this summer and also seeing the in-laws in Portugal over Xmas.

Quick delivery & results. Plus discount codes online, including via EasyJet.

So just got a 'time to check-in' email off Jet2 for September 6th, I had completely forgotten I'd even booked this..... whether to go or not 🤔

It does feel like someone, somewhere is telling me something

Although, to be fair, that person is me, 6 months ago
Just looking enviously at the tin of new potatoes on your av. With the shelves emptying here *cough* *Brexit* *no EU drivers* they are gonna be gold dust shortly. My shop (Lidl) has been patchy, yesterday no eggs, last time I went the only potatoes were them big baking ones.

If you're going to Ibiza, never mind the postcard, a fresh lettuce will do!!

Seriously I've turned into a iron-curtain east german, carrying a "just in case" bag just in case I'm out shopping and I find something that was missing elsewhere!! Grab it while I can....how much am I offered for this toilet roll??

Dropped a clanger, our lass needed to do a departure test because her 2 weeks after her second jab haven't been yet and she did the test tonight to take to a drop box thinking it was just 72 hours before fly but now read that's its no more than 72 hour before entry into Spain.. had to order another one just hope it comes to our house in time and we get that dropped off and results back before Sat evening

(Where we right in buying another one? Is it strict on entry time to Spain and test time?)

Just wanting to double-check this since my trip is less than 3 weeks away, and am hoping that someone in this thread can clarify my understanding for a US citizen traveling to Ibiza via Madrid with a double-jab of the Pfizer vaccine.

Per the SpTH website, it states that if you have both of your vaccination shots, you can enter Spain as long as you've completed the FCS form and gotten the QR code, and no COVID test is required unless you're unvaccinated. The issue I'm wanting to double-check however is that on the Balearic Island travel website (http://safetourism.illesbalears.travel/en), it states that international travelers to the Balearics do not need a COVID test if vaccinated (see 'Traveling from an International Location')...but it also states that that a negative COVID test is required if you're a foreign tourist visiting the Balearics from mainland Spain (see 'Traveling from another part of Spain'). In my case, I am not overnighting/stopping over in Madrid, but am only transiting Madrid via a layover before flying from Madrid to Ibiza. Since my international flight is direct from the US to Madrid and not Ibiza, and I am therefore transiting from Madrid, am I covered just with the SpTH form only, or do I still need a negative COVID test to enter the Balearics? Thanks!

Is ibiza seaport just accepting any vaccination certificate or does it have to be internationally recognised? I have a local one from Barcelona but I don't know if it is valid if you don't have the QR code (which has been a 2 month ordeal trying to get hold of).

We were the same. We did the test at 1pm Spanish time but the certificate said midday UK. They must take that into account as we were fine :)
