Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

Please move if this is in the wrong place but my mate has thrown a spanner in the works of my Ibiza plans by informing me Spain may be added to the red list at the next review.

Anyone have any thoughts or insight on this? I'd imagine this wouldn't include the Balearics?

I think its a bit of an alarmist piece in the papers from a 'wouldn't rule it out' quote.

Moving Spain to the red list as their vaccination programme overtakes the UK, how very Johnson administration!

Doubt it vaccination rate in spain highest in Europe, incidence rate now stable, and the amount of brits abroad in spain they don't have enough quarantine hotels for them when they come home

But isn't it based on the amount of positive tests from those travelling from that country. Whether or not Spain is fully vaccinated doesn't mean much for the UK as covid can still be transmitted. I heard 1 in 35 people tested positive coming back to the UK from Spain

I doubt it, as mentioned there is not enough capacity in quarantine hotels for it to go Red. Unless they make up a new level for double vaxxed mandated to isolate at home or something. Still seems unlikely during school holidays

Also if you’re taking this from the independent it’s just quotes from an online message board 🤷🏽‍♂️ The same i independent also published this article 5 hours ago

Good idea, better than the risk being stranded in ibiza if the test is either inconclusive or simply doesnt work properly. I wonder if they check the date stamp information on the photo you send them (you can do this simply by checking the properties on any photo which normally shows the date taken, unless you reset the dates on your phone/camera to coincide)

Yeah a phone photo of a photo on your laptop would get round that. In theory of course lol ! Seems they do actually have some sort of check / balance. I am told you only get a code which you have to write on the test in biro when you scan the barcode to instigate the test process. Guessing they expect that to be at the same time you officially take the test. I'd be interested to know though whether you can just do the test and display result on it and take it out with you. Then scan code / write on it in biro at the appropriate time, photo and send off !

Not to be too tin foil hat, but governments use scraping software to collect public online conversations on topics of interest, of which I’m sure this is likely to be one. I wouldn’t want this testing route to be closed off to us so I wonder whether discussing these possible “workarounds” in a public forum is a good idea?

They could just change the quarantine system...
The usual travel insider bods on twitter have not mentioned Spain going to red at all , at least yet. And despite not always being 100% right they are usually pretty reliable for big changes being mooted like Spain to red.

As for changing the quarantine system, they just have! They got rid of amber plus. Despite lacking the capacity to put all tourists returning from spain up for two weeks, I cant see them performing a huge u-turn (well...) and bringing amber plus back . They would be an (even bigger) laughing stock .

Anyone gone to Ibiza with their passport on their maiden name and vaccine certificate in their married name with any issues? What documents do they check upon arrival at Ibiza airport?

I've read on trip advisor to take my marriage certificate as proof and don't want to have to do a PCR 'just in case' when it's not needed.

I'm sure there's many ladies in this same situation!

think ive finally got my head around everything needed to do for entry / return  not the most tech savy guy at all but didn't think it would be so much fuss.. the amount of money thrown at the NHS app it should do everything besides pack your bag for you.

correct me if im wrong but needed.

- health control form (spth-spain-online.com) 48hour before entry
- test before return (72hour)
- passenger locator form (before return)
- covid passport barcodes on NHSapp (already screen shotted)
- test when back for the day 2 return one

Perfect. both Spth and locator form only done 48hr before flight. Spth must be a QR code on phone...they quickly scan it...u need a number for ur return test (antigen) to put in locator form.
