Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

Just sorting stuff out for our trip next week (attempting just hand luggage for 12 days...with a 7 year old...you can't say I'm not ambitious šŸ¤Ŗ) and I'm curious...who actually checks that you've done a day 2 test? I take it you need to have it booked before you return home and put the reference number on your return passenger locator form? But how do you report your results? TIA x

Quick update. We had an amazing 11 nights in Ibiza and made it home a couple of days ago. Doing the Qured video call for the return to U.K. test was nerve wracking, my hands were shaking I was so nervous about getting a positive result. Luckily they came back negative and we were able to breathe a big sigh of relief!
Things were a little slower than usual at Ibiza airport for the return. People at check in were all faffing with their documents, one family were there for a good 20 minutes holding up the queue. Bit stressful as by the time we were through we barely had time to grab a bottle of water and a sandwich for the flight, so definitely allow more time for the return journey.

I will write up a trip report soon. For now I am debating whether or not to go again in September as planned as I did find the prospect of being stuck quite stressful and it weighed on my mind a fair bit during the trip as we have dogs at home to get back to.

I'd imagine the test provider a) reports any positives and b) if you get a positive, sends you instructions on what you do next.

We did our day 2 tests on Tuesday last week (day after we returned from Majorca), and recieved all negatives, but someone on our flight obviously tested positive as we had emails and texts today to log into to track and trace as we have been in contact with someone who did. Self-isolation required until (well including) Aug 5, exactly 10 days from flight.

Think of mid to late September when the kids are back at school so it's less busy. October often has better weather than September due to September's thunderstorms; btu it is pot luck. Will still be wam though - that's guaranteed!

Wonder if, at the airport, you can check in dead early then disappear out of the airport then return in time for your flight, knowing the check-in palava has been completed?

Early check in possible in IBZ Airport ? Never heard of it. That would be ok

Dunno, suppose it depends on the airline and whether you have hold luggage or not. In the good old days (2019!) I never had hold luggage so walked straight past and to the gate. now we all have to be covid-scanned at check-in as I understand?

But if you have no hold luggage, surely you can check in at any time (just like you can on the web) that day as long as it's open?

Ive just read that amber countries need day 2 and day 8 tests on return is this right because them tests are about Ā£85 a popšŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø547C45C7-E285-470F-A9DA-08A292337ACC.jpeg547C45C7-E285-470F-A9DA-08A292337ACC.jpeg

Cool thanks Buckley. Sorry about the isolation ā˜¹

good news no more amber plus
Think Amber Plus is still a thing (as in for France at the mo), but the idea of a ā€œwatchlistā€ for countries that might go red has been binned

Ignore me, Iā€™m talking balls

Got a question on tests, if anyone can help.
On the return home Iā€™ve ordered 4 antigen tests from a company called chronomics. Recommend by tui holidays. Not staying with tui but a friend is and has told me this company is above board.
And supposedly the tests we have can be done by ourselves and what I can gather we take picture of results and send to the company and they send a fit to fly certificate.
Iā€™m not confident this is right but can anyone say if this is legit ( or maybe they ask for a video of you doing it?) and maybe they have used the same company.
Any help on this is appreciated.

We have bought the same type of test. Not used them yet but there is a description of how it works here https://www.c19testing.co.uk/rapidtravel
Our tests arrived next day as expected. I have heard that they are accepted at the airport on here and other social media. Planning on doing ours at the opening of the window in case the test is faulty and we need to re-test in resort.

Swift reply, thanks.
When are you flying back ? We are on the 23rd august. Will report back on it if we go before you. šŸ‘ŠšŸ»

No biggie, missus had to isolate for 10 days anyway because she's only had one jab so far, I got notified yesterday to stay in until Friday. I was working from anyway, and the kids are off school. Had to miss pre-season footy training tonight, but really enjoyed my first ever online grocery shop for delivery , so pros and cons really!

I used the Chronomics tests a couple of weeks ago, they are just as you say, take and send a picture of the result, no video involved.
For the day 2 test on return you post the result in a priority post box. All worked well.
