Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

little tip for those that may have thier second jab booked in but its a while off, ours isn't till end of August (when we had our first weeks ago)🤷‍♂️ anyway.. if that is the case log in and go to manage your booking as if you were to cancel it then it should come up with an option of a sooner date.. we have just shaved 3+ weeks off our wait

Yep, i've moved mine forward to this Monday, 4 weeks early. Also I heard that if you are over 40 you can do walk-in, any day

nicely played mate. the threat to us was the time scale for us getting away after the second jab so were pleased we (should) be panic-free

.... really no problem at all, on the outward flight only the QR code was scanned at the airport....and there are thermal cameras that measure your temperature ;-)
On the return flight, the certificate of the antigen test was required at check-in, we did it via SALUTLABS (30 euros), they come to most hotels every day!

They do this lollipop test, result immediately.... You will receive written confirmation by e-mail or sms within a few hours.
Thanks for that; love getting the result straight away too. Mind you..if it comes back positive do you have to stay in your hotel until the result is negative?

While we are desperatley trying to get a week in Ibiza without all the rigmorole of codes, testing and quarantine - this lot will be allowed to travel into England and back again with almost zero in their way.
Makes me puke.
One rule for us...one rule for them...

Hope your time to come to the island comes soon. How are you? :)

And indeed my forum friends...the trip went very smoothly. A antigen rapid test is now enough for Spain if it's taken 40 hours in advance.
Only my Spth.gov QR code was checked and from landing to driving away in my rental car took like 30 mins.
I'm booked for September 6th but just can't get excited about it as no confidence it will happen

Other than that all good, work quiet and life back to something like normality

And still jealous!!

So i went from the 5th to the 16th. Trip was awesome, weather in second half was warmer than expected hitting 34C. Plane was pretty empty, as were the airports and so travelling was really easy. I used Salut Labs for the test in Ibiza, they came to my villa and it was all very quick and easy.

If you can manage the 5 day quarantine and pay for the tests, I highly suggest you get out there. I'll be back in September.

Sturgeon asking Scots not to travel to places like Manchester or Blackpool to stop the spread of the Indian variant.
20,000 Scots descend on London for a football match.

Okaay.....

Could end up with English being allowed, finally, to fly to Ibiza and the Med but other nations, such as Scotland, not allowed to fly. Does Covid attack politician's logic?

I arrived in Ibiza today. The process at the airport was very fast and efficient. They scan the QR code, check the corona test certificate, and then you're good to go. The people doing the checks were friendly and service minded. I doubt the whole procedure delayed me by more than 5 minutes.

British Airways look to have rationalised all flights from London airports and pooled them into Heathrow. City, Gatwick and Stanstead flights all cancelled up to July. From Tuesday 6th July City airport starts to run flights again but massively reduced.

Talk that BA will pull out of Gatwick (Again....!) permanently to consolidate at Heathrow.
Don't they "own" T5, and if so there would be a financial incentive to fill it with flights rather than split with another airport? Dunno for sure, would love to know the situation.

Interesting table on current infection rates, which list each country is currently on and which list it should be on if using the government guidelines. (Source Paul Charles travel consultant) @PPaulCharles on Twitter.

Government officials reportedly still briefing that it’ll be August before there are any changes. Whether they throw the travel industry a few bones in the next list remains to be seen. But certainly there doesn’t seem to be any sign yet and the word “caution” is being repeated a lot in press interviews as the days tick down until
the next announcement.

The transport secretary says he is “cautiously hopeful” about being able to lift some restrictions on international travel as a result of the vaccine programme.

Grant Shapps says the government had always committed to regularly reviewing its international travel plan with the first “checkpoint” taking place on 28 June.

He says the checkpoints will look at whether the “science would support” relaxations - including letting people who have received two vaccine doses return from certain countries without quarantining.

“We’ll have to see what science leads us to be able to do and when, but that's why we've got these checkpoints in place," he says.

If they go down that route I think - back home - you have to have a test every day for seven..maybe ten...days? They are "free" and it's arguably better doing that from an amber country than the tests required from a green; so it makes me wonder what will fully vaxxed individuals do returning from a green country?

So I applaud the thinking but I'm thinking it may make an amber country more accessable than a green one??
