most likely it will still be a building site. I heard plaza de parque should be ready in feb (which will be march for sure) and then vara de rey for april, but knowing how things work here, it'll probably open on tuesday before IMS or so...
 
Yeah must be said, that is a disadvantage of visiting before start of the season. Last time it was the marina that was a building site. Was really looking forward to chilling in plaza del parque in Aprik. Hopefully its finished by then!

What are they doing there anyway? I know Vara de rey is being pedestrianised.
 
yeah VdR is turning into pedestrian zone. as for plaza de parque..... maaaaaackiiiieeee help - what are they doing there? not sure what it is they do.
 
c/ jaume I (the one that goes between plaza del parque and the walls) will be pedestrian too... was there any need?! more parking spaces lost...

and, as you can see in the map, the avda. santa eulalia will be one direction only... to leave the town! it would have been better to enter so you would see dalt vila and the port...
 
right ok, so...

according to newspaper, plaza de parque should be open at the end of this month. I passed by a few days ago and it's looking alright. it's definitely a change, but I can't wait to go have my coffees there again and to feel it being one of the meeting spots. we really missed it this winter!

vara de rey is still a complete shambles though and will only be finished in may according to the same newspaper.

Tragic, that place was always a about transport and I've long thought it would be a decent location for a proper bus station. Tourists would love it, and I'm sure locals on that side of town also would. Obviously it would cost money, when this high roller operation will bring in money. I've seen people lining up to take pics of themselves in front of these boats and I laughed, not laughing anymore....
