Films....

Its like anything in life though...

Theme Parks for example, more specifcally Roller Coasters, esp the ones that make you feel like you are close to death  for some reason, unknown to us, theres a frill of it to us sickos....

Same with what genre of film people like...I loath / hate / despise 'most' chick flicks  id rather slit my wrists and stick pins in my eyes  Id much prefer to watch a film with something exciting and maybe not quite normal in it, as to me thats more entertaining :D8)

Now rollercoasters, I LOVE :D but it doesn't involve me having to endure the sights and sounds of someone being brutally raped or having their head smashed in with a fire extinguisher:eek:;) *insert pukey smiley*

 must be!

Maybe I'm too fond of living in a fluffy bubble, but the thought of torturing my brain/imagination with stuff like that is horrible  I did get curious, but 2 mins reading about the film on Imdb was enough to send me running

I guess most of the time effects in films look pretty fake or are achieved through editing, so you don't make connections with real life. From what I remember of that scene, it's done without noticeable cutting and seems pretty convincing. Plus it goes on for a while. Which is why I had to look away for a bit. Maybe my tolerance was lowered due to watching it with a hangover.

I agree that the scene looks real. I like horror movies but that made me look away.

I agree with you

I think I just have a wild imagination - if I watched half this stuff I would be having all sorts of weird dreams and I cant be dealing with that.

I can barely look at rollercoasters. A mate dragged me along to Thorpe park a few years back (despite me protesting I didn't fancy it at all) due to having free passes. I could only sit a bit high on meph and drinking beer while he went on rides.

Its weird with rollercoasters, when I was younger basically it was the scarier the better but on my recent trip to Thorpe Park I actually got a bit freaked out by the swing ride, felt I was going to fly out :lol:

My friend did point out to me that 14 year old girls go on these things.

Look, people have died on rollercoasters before...

Must have been the age when I enjoyed them, in fact it probably was

The one at Alton Towers where you lay down freaked me out too, Air

I feel a new thread coming along

TBH i am more wary of rides now as i was when i was younger and thats not because i may have become a bit 'wiser' i jst think ' SH*T  ' when i see a certain ride that just looks like a death thrill  lol

Saying that a sky dive in cuba was blinding :D Stealth at Thorpe Park on the other hand is god awful :twisted:

Oh Stealth - good old stomach churner!

Went on it twice

Whats the other saw maze thing about, that was a load of sh*te lol

The one ride i have been on and probably wont ever is, is it Oblivion?! at alton towers, sod that

The maze is the live actors thing isnt it......not my cup of tea at all after going through the "live actor" bit at Madame Tussauds :lol:

Thats another thing i need to do, Madam Tussauds and the London Dungeons etc etc. wow i live down the road from London yet still feel like a tourist when im up there

You should go to Budapest (!) and do the labyrinth after 6pm - just caves and stuff with some religious/medieval imagery, but bloody scary when you only have an oil lamp for light and to find your way out and not many other people are down there.
