Yeah, 1999. (Don't worry, Vic, they'd moved to colour by then.)

Based on actual events. Brandon Teena is the popular new guy in a tiny Nebraska town. He hangs out with the guys, drinking, cussing, and bumper surfing, and he charms the young women, who've never met a more sensitive and considerate young man. Life is good for Brandon, now that he's one of the guys and dating hometown beauty Lana. However, he's forgotten to mention one important detail. It's not that he's wanted in another town for GTA and other assorted crimes, but that Brandon Teena was actually born a woman named Teena Brandon. When his best friends make this discovery, Brandon's life is ripped apart.

Worth a watch. I recorded it off Film Four. Quite an eye opener (you'll prob think Brandon/Teena a jerk at the start), but ultimately very sad.

I want to see this 'We Need To Talk About Kevin', but will wait for the blu-ray.

Paranormal activity 3, mmmm left me more than a little confused, all the usual scares and heart stopping moments and some funny bits too but a strange ending.
I'll be intersted to hear any other opinions.

Bored, bored, bored of reality horror... Who needs it when Gadaffi's corpse can be flung around on your TV screen in something that resembles the ending of Cannibal Holocaust?

Watched Again

Goood film

Seen the original?

It's flippin awful.

It's no smarter than 'Scream' (which is crap enough), like having the murderers wink at the camera is some clever deconstruction of the genre.

It really annoyed me for some reason. I'm a horror fan; I hated the way it criticises the genre while revelling in cliche (the murderers listen to heavy metal; the good guys, classical).

Crappy, Daily Mail type morality!

What's really clever is to make a horror film that sticks in the mind and disturbs, rather than some rubbish post-modern deconstruction.

Many of my fave films are horrors and I hate the way the genre is demonised. :(
