Hard, thought-provoking and scary. Good film.

I would never normally think to watch any of the films you post Buckley, but thats mainly because i never come across them and am a bit of a sheep and jst watch films that are advertised or i hear about alot, so i might jst have to investigate some of these films you have posted about :D

As we speak, i have sat on my desk,...'Stir of Echoes' anyone seen it ?! Its got Kevin Bacon in it....the dvd casing got me attracted to it, so after one person in the office watched it they gave it to me for the next viewing so i shall watch and review this over the week 8)

Do it Vic. My missus' loves a poncy film, but some of them are amazing. The last one I've posted is a true story about the editor of Elle (France) who suffered 'locked in-syndrome' after a brain damage incident. French language with subtitles, takes a bit of effort to get in to, but harrowing and inspiring in equal measure.

I won't tell you too much more, but watch it and see what you reckon.

Do you have LoveFilm? We get a lot of value out of the £10/month it costs.

Stir of Echoes - yup, enjoyed it years ago, can't remember so much now. Have an idea it's a bit of a precursor to The Haunting In Conneticut, if you've seen that. I might re-watch it tonight ot tomorrow, if the management agrees:lol:.

You've also reminded of the student drinking game, The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon:lol:

A scary film indeed. You have to wonder how you'd cope if it happened to you? However, didn't like it as much as most seem to.

I'd want to die JV. It frustrates me enough that I can't turn a red light green, without having to listen to a test card beep all night because no-ones turned the TV off and I can't.

Me too. But the state is unlikely to let you. I can't think of anything worse than being trapped in a paralysed body, yet this guy managed to make something of it.

I quite like emotionally challenging films, though not cheesy romance type ones.

These are quite good, almost documentary style showing the grimness of life in other countries.

4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1032846/ "Drama about a woman who assists her friend to arrange an illegal abortion in 1980's Romania. "

Import/Export - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0459102/ "
A nurse from the Ukraine searches for a better life in the West, while an unemployed security guard from Austria heads East for the same reason. "

Saw Warrior at the cinema last night. Not breaking any boundaries, cheesetastic, but a ok watch. Rocky/The Fighter/The Warrior - all fairly interchangeable, but all watchable IMO.

Started on this after:

Starts well......

I've seen The Proposition. It's okay, but I wanted to like it more than I did. (I even gave it a second chance.) The same director went on to do The Road.

Just noticed it has Ray Winstone in it, after watching the failure of 44 inch chest and it making me re-think how good ray actually is in what films he choses to be in  i will give him the benefit of the doubt and maybe get a viewing of this film 8)

If you want to see him at the top of his game, you have to watch " nil by mouth" it's pretty heavy going and dark but truly brilliant.

Good shout. One of the best performances I have ever seen, very dark and grizzly with a few look away scenes, but utterly fantastic RW.

Stir of Echoes - Really good film actually, simple yet effective.

Also saw Footloose at the cinema yesterday and the GF and me really enjoyed it and i am not normally a fan of corny american films, but was a really good well put together film
