Films....

Hall Pass - Alot funnier than i thought it would be tbh, good watch, would recommend...funniest bit is where owen wilson passes out in the jacuzzi and gets help  - if u have seen the film then u will know which bit i am reffering to ;)

I agree Hall Pass is a very funny film, I like the bit where they all go to the golfing range as you can get into the party thats there afterwards and try to pull, and they all eat some brownies that were brought along:lol::lol:

Watched documentary few people were talkin about called Small Town Ecstacy. Give it a look on youtube if only for the rad dad off his head with his kids.

Blu-ray player delivered yesterday and first blu-ray 'Amer'. :D

Might get 'The Thing' or 'Shogun Assassin' next as the DVD transfers of those are shoddy and they're pure classic films. 8) (No plans to upgrade the whole DVD collection.)

Have a read up of reviews of films on blu ray before taking the plunge as some transfers are awful, whereas others are amazing. As most people will always comment on the picture quality;)

Yeah, I know. That's why I won't be upgrading DVDs just for the sake of it, just classic ones with shoddy transfers that have been mucho improved on blu. Will buy anything new on blu though.

Couple of films at the weekend...

'Amer' - pretty impressive tribute to 70s Italian horror. Not much happens really, but the visuals and atmosphere are great. Probably need to watch again to get the exact jist of it.

'Red Road' - Scottish thriller/drama, showing the scummy side of Glasgow. I love this sort of low budget British filmmaking (would go well with something like Morvern Callar or Dead Man's Shoes) and thought it very gripping, intelligent and moving.

Inbetweeners - Watched this yesterday..score out of 10, the BF and i said 7...8)

Its ok, easy to watch, alot of toilet humour in it which was a bit gross.
Hangover 2 is still my fave this year :D

Limitless - Totally not what i thought it would be....all in all a good watch and quite a good idea behind the story

;)

I watched Limitless also did not have clue about it from your review. It was a good, I watched both versions and the alternate ending. I also watch source code, Vic didn't review this one was totally lost;) The movie was ok wait for the cheap DVD bin.

'Hes just NOT that into you'

Watched it last night on channel 4 and to my surprise, it was actually very good.

Probably because i could relate to it, but more because i knew what the girls in the film were doing wrong

one question tho, how the hell does Jennifer Aniston look so bloody good all the time :spank:

Watched SALT on Sunday evening. Thought it was going to be totally stupid at first with the car chase scenes. It became watchable if unmemorable, would have been miffed had I paid £3.99 when it was on box office.

Things I've watched recently:

The Loved Ones - excellent Australian psycho-horror (think weird mix of TCM, Carrie, Misery and Hostel). Very violent but also quite funny. Amazed it didn't get a theatrical release here. I recorded it from Film Four.

Repeat viewings of Pan's Labyrinth & Cronos - both brilliant.

And my blu-ray of the classic Shogun Assassin just arrived. 8)

Been watching loads of films recently (its big brother season which forces me into another room to do something less boring instead).

Looks dated, but lots of films seem to have been based on it. (Not least 'The Island' which I mentioned watching earlier in this thread.)
