Saw Ratko Mladic try to make a mockery of his war crimes trial in the Hague today on the news.
Inspired me to watch an old film (which I think is extremely good) called "Saviour"
Directed by a Serbian and based around the conflict in the Balkansduring the 90's (with the majority of the cast being either Bosnian, Croat or Serbian) it is American produced and stars (bizarrely) Dennis Quaid.
It's one of the very few films which have succeeded in making me cry - non of the characters are very likeable, there are certainly no heros and it's all very depressing.
Definitely the most anti-war film I've seen (and certainly more than than the usual suspects such as Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Apocolpyse Now etc)
I think it's quite hard to get hold of these days, but if you do see a copy (or see it advertised on cable/satelite) give it a go. I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.
If you do get the chance, let me know what you think.
