Films....

I agree it made me feel quite down for a while and by that "scene" i presume you mean the one in the underpass halfway through, but i found the scene at the beginning in that club almost as disturbing.

this is making me wana watch the film, just for the viewing of this 'scene' but from what you say about it, maybe i dont want to  lol

The fire extinguisher scene in Irreversible is the worst bit. I'm a seasoned horror fan, but had to look away...

I grossed someone out the other weekend by showing them Cannibal Holocaust - and that was just the cut version. (Never seen the uncut one and wouldn't want to.) It's a very early example of the reality horror films that are all over the place now.

I watched The last king of Scotland. Good film that showed a balanced view of a dictator even if he was unbalanced

bloody hell i remember that from the original video nasty days - well deserved the title video nasty - up there with the original I Spit on your grave and last house on the left - vile films...

also watched Mr Nice at the weekend - pants compared to the book - which I read again a week prior to watching this film....... 3/10

I actually think Cannibal Holocaust is a decent enough film (though the cut version is the only one I'll watch), but have no time for I Spit or Last House, despite the latter being held up as a classic by some.

I do adore The Evil Dead and Zombie Flesh-eaters, though. Many of these films are pretty tame now compared to American 'torture porn' and the stuff coming out of France.

I was having a random clear out of stuff I'd taped off the box at the weekend. Worst of the bunch was Shrooms (like a bad Talk to Frank ad dragged out to 90 mins). Hannibal Rising (though it destroyed any of the mystery of the Lecter character), Ils and Brides of Dracula (proper old skool Hammer horror) were all okay. Biggest surprise was Blade 3 - had avoided it coz I thought it was meant to be crap, but it was as enjoyable and funnier than the other Blades.

*end of ramble*

and

The Adjustment Beareau - new matt damon one, looks good 8)

Talking on recently watched films, I saw Paul this weekend.

And wasn't impressed. Those two should have stopped making films after Shaun of the dead.

I saw Rango at the weekend (Johnny Depp lizard animation) quite good - more for adults then kids I would say and some of the animation was amazing, lifelike!

Also saw a trailer for the new Pirates of the Caribbean - not a massive fan but Ian McShane looks like he plays a great villain in this one!

Wallstreet2 :- watched this on Saturday, what a load of old pish. Not sure who the young lad was, had about as much presence as a big brother contestant. Overall plot was predictable. Wifey fell asleep 2/3 way through, unheard of, I get beat around the head for falling asleep through a film!

Is that a new film ?! havent heard of it :?:

Started to watch the social network again on saturday night but my best mate was tired and, well, if any of you lot have seen it, you do need to concentrate a fair bit coz my god do they chat fast and in mass amounts

Either way, when i went to the cinema to watch that i was, to my surprise, quite impressed with it....the owner of fb is filthy f**kin rich tho, which annoys me  lol

Might be off to the cinema to see the adjustment bureau if i can be arsed  reviews to come..........

I fancy the new Matthew McConaughey one, something about a lawyer.....

Still got Expendables and A Team to watch at home

Been getting more addicted to TV shows lately, espec Boardwalk Empire - what a great series

Anyone who hasn't seen The Bad Lieutenant (original version with Harvey Keitel) needs to see the film, a much underated classic. Noticed there is a new version released, without seeing it I know for absolute certain it will not be as good as the Keitel original.

I quite like Abel Ferrara stuff, but find Bad Lieutenant overrated. It's kinda dull and occasionally unintentionally funny - Harvey Keitel doing that penguin walk in the nude.

The 'remake' is by Werner Herzog and has Nicolas Cage in it. I'll watch it at some point - it's meant to be bonkers and pretty good.

I watched The Entity at the weekend for the first time. Seems to be considered a classic by some. It was okay, but again I laughed at some bits that probably weren't meant to be funny.

I've seen both of them and they are completely different,The harvey keitel one made me feel a bit grubby.
