Filling up the kettle from the hot tap

Er we don't have a tank at home we have a combi boiler. So any excuses for going mental due to the water supply are truely unjust. Mambo your going mental totally by yourself. 8O :lol:
 
OK... joined in this one late as usual. Question for those who might know:

I was aware of the hot water issue, but where I live now all the hot water is pumped in from the mains just like cold water (heat and hot water are centralized for the whole city!). So, does that mean I CAN use the hot water??

I've heard maybe not since more things (metals, etc) dissolve in hot water and get carried along in the pipes, whereas they'd just drop out of cold water. :?
