love the media scaremongering (esp ITN news last night) with all this bird flu malarky.

all based on the fact the virus 'might' make the jump to humans.

bunch of arse.

Oh yes my mum was on about this the other day - saying I should really be wearing a mask WTF!! Somehow I don't think its going to happen! :D

from another board...someone else's thoughts on the matter:

"Typical bloody women, your just fed up with blokes whinging when they have a cold (man flu) so you have tried to come up with something better"

is this info just coming to your edge of the woods? It has been hyped in The States for a while now :?:

its been here for ages as well, but the virus has just been found in Turkey so the media is getting overexcited.

And NO-ONE can stand still, let alone sleep, through that journey.

Something 'bout your body da da da de de de come on make a move on me dedum do

BAM DISH DASH AVE THAT!

personally, i think it was all to do with the extended travelling there/home and nothing to do with over-davis-ing 8)

But yeah, looks like it's going to be big.

As you said, it's been all over the news, and seems to be baffling the worlds greatest scientist's worldwide, aswell as "the man on the street".

It actually shocks me, when, on closer inspection, how unstoppable, it actually is.

A force to be reckoned with by anyone's estimation

The latest pandemic indeed that could change the entire world as we know and underdstand it.

you know what's coming next haha

I must admit, it even shocks me when I think about how something as small as little old me can change a person, armed only with 2 cdjs and a mixer.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Will someone who knows stuff explain why they think it's going to be a massive pandemic, I thought it has been around in Asia for ages and only killed a few ppl so how comes if it gets over here they're saying 100s of thousands/millions could die from it :?

In its current form, it can't be the cause of a pandemic as it can only be caught from being in close promixity to infected birds and can't be passed on other humans. However, if it mutates, by for example, combining with a human flu virus strain, making it transmissible between humans, then, Houston, we have problem. Apparently flu pandemics occur on average every 50 years or so -- the last one was the Spanish Flu way back in 1918 which killed anywhere between 20 and 50 million worldwide and, significantly, commonly killed young healthy people.
