bang on, 15 years ago we was doing horrendous looking lines, they took two big snorts to get them up. Much better quality these days, go too big and you can’t talk even though you want to ?

I haven't done anything in months apart from some cheeky chisel at a bbq in the summer. I miss just having a copa with people more tbh.

I'm in the same boat. as much as I love the 'fun stuff', what I most miss is actually getting together with lots of people. in 9 days it'll be a year since I last danced in a full club with a soundsystem on full blast. I miss it loads! I'm getting off topic though sorry.

I blame Oasis. By the time of their massive Knebworth gig, even the London surburbs' Irish pubs, where most punters would have had a dim view of proper nightclubs and the drugs that went with them, even some of the older clientele were queueing for the cubicles. Even the straight-laced kids you went to school, who were still playing Gaelic football were at it.
Bizarrely for some of these punters, coke was a gateway drug for Es. They would never have done drugs before

In London there was all this oneupmanship & social status associated with who you knew and the pursuit was as much a drug as the drug itself! i knew so many people 40s/50s who could carry on for days. You have to be freelance or self-employed to get away with that! Maybe now more people are home it's rocketing? Anyway I had to leave it all behind. You briefly feel amazing but diminishing rtns. then just talk a lot of shit and get nothing done rest of the week. I also found it got quite dark & paranoid when you suspected people were just leeching & it complicated friendships. Whenever i get nostalgic for the parties i need to remember all that side of it too. In Spain i think the culture feels different maybe because weekenders are less common maybe? but am a lot less in the know these days.
