to avoid something similar this morning (la troya closing) and tomorrow morning (cream closing) the mayor banned amnesia from opening between 6am till 10pm:

Private parties & fiestas on the beach or in other public spaces will be controlled & stopped if they are illegal
today el mundo reports that this summer there has been 10 times more denuncias to private parties and that josé manuel bar announced, once again, that one of his priorities for 2006 is to finish with that kind of events (a commitment he has with the club owners):

the article also mentions the aborted cocoon afterparty on tuesday. in related news, the afterparty of katarsis (privilege) yesterday and the afterparty of monza (penelope) today have been stopped by the guardia civil too :!:

and now in english (from the ibiza sun):

Disco Road Chaos.
Supposedly as a protest against the order made by the authorities to close their club at 6am in the morning to prevent their customers causing traffic problems & dangers for school traffic later in the morning, the Amnesia disco reportedly closed & emptied their disco at 6am & then re-opened as they are legally allowed to at 8am with the party continuing until late into the day. Seemingly in the 2 hours the thousands of clubbers had to wait outside for the club to reopen & be re-admitted, there were dangerous traffic incidents & reportedly a few minor accidents.
Also the Guardia Civil reportedly had to close down a supposedly illegal party in a house in Cala Llonga, which seemingly lots of the clubbers from Amnesia went on to after leaving the club later in the morning when they finally closed.
Amnesia appears to argue that it is safer for them to be allowed to be open longer hours & empty the club from 6am on in a phased & controlled manner as they have done all summer rather than shut dead at 6am as the authorities have asked them to & then reopen as they have done on one day last week.
For their part the authorities were reportedly appalled by the clubs action & are investigating to see if there is a case for taking the clubs license away for creating the reported road traffic situation last week. Later in the week, with only a few days left of the season as far as the disco is concerned, the authorities made a temporary order covering the next 15 days ordering that Amnesia could not re-open until 10pm at night & must be closed at 6am in the morning. The Town Hall, acting upon information supplied by the forces of law & order, supposedly said they had imposed this sanction upon Amnesia because the dangerous & insecure situation which had seemingly been created the other morning. It appears that Sant Antoni are going to try & incorporate these hours for all discos in the borough in new bye-laws which they are planning for 2006. These bye-laws will cover the activities & hours of discos in the borough & will probably be extended to all the discos on the island if all the other Councils agree.

today theres more about the planned changes:

 http://www.diariodeibiza.es/secciones/noticia.jsp?pIdNoticia=76139

the article also reports that till now they could only put a ridiculous fine of 300€ when the clubs didnt respect the closing time because san antonio has less than 20.000 habitants..........

Closing Parties Drug Problems.
2 German youngsters & a North American were supposedly rushed to hospital in a drug & alcohol induced coma which lasted 5 hours after receiving treatment. It appears that the youngsters had been attending a closing party when they became worse for wear because of the deadly cocktail of drink & drugs they had taken. The police are now investigating where the youngsters acquired the drugs they took.

Illegal Fiesta.
Over 300 people turned up at a restaurant in Cala Codolar for what the police assume was an illegal fiesta. Playing loud music & spilling out onto the beach & apparently annoying other tourists with their "liberal activities", the police were called & put an end to the party. They also apparently started official action against the organisers of the fiesta & the restaurant where it was based as seemingly this establishment could not produce a legal opening license to hold fiestas when asked to do so.
Though the authorities have always acted against illegal fiestas & gathering of people on the island, since they took a stronger line over the closing times of the legal discos, the authorities appear to have stepped up their action against illegal fiestas.

according to ultima hora the other day they stopped another illegal party in cala llentrisca (it doesnt appear on the online version so no link this time) :!:

Drugs Information Program.
Consisting of health, hygiene, addiction & personal safety information in 6 languages to be displayed in the clubs on the island as well as information to staff on how to administer first aid to a drug overdose victims, the disco association has signed an agreement with the Balearic Government to increase the level of consciousness about illegal drugs amongst the clients using their establishments. This agreement appears to be in response to the recent drug problems on the island & will be built into the new drug dependence laws being drawn up by the Balearic Government.

Drugs Campaign by Discos.
The discos in the Baleares & the Balearic Government as well as all the island Consell Governments signed an agreement this week to jointly help fight the consumption & dangers of drugs amongst the youngsters in the Baleares. The discos will display information, advice & warnings in prominent places in their establishments so that "clubbers" are aware of the drug problems they could face. The information will also be displayed in public areas where youngsters congregate & will also be sponsored by the discos. The information will be in Catalan, Castilian Spanish, English, French, German & Italian. This campaign is thought to be the first of its type in Spain & will start as soon as possible.
