Okay
NO silvia.. I KNOW there is more to ibiza than clubbing..
everyone is confusing what I am saying..
and I cant seem to make my point across ...
so I think I will give it a rest..
I know there is much more to IBIZA than clubs! and I will be enjoying those other events.. I know there is more to see on IBIZA than inside PARCHA! its an island with tropical weather and blue water and white sand. thats why I am going!
to get away from the 12million peole concrete jungle I live in..
the clubbing is another option..
I wouldnt fly 15 hours to go sit in a nightclub all day on drugs!!
as you just stated above.. there is more to do on ibiza than do drugs..
and my arguement was.. that many people do come to do drugs..
and many do come to not do drugs..
so I really dont understand why everyone is slamming me!
sure someone pointed out that the ratio was 4-1 I never knew that!
thats great! now I know..
I've been into the clubbing scene/music etc for around 6 years and it was my dream to go to ibiza, basically because its one of the only places that manages to cultivate extraordinary world class events and is one of the only places in the world where you could stay for 2 weeks and see the best top 10 Djs in the world and get a Tan at the same time.
I am from South Africa and a group of us went to Ibiza for the clubs this year for 10 days. I had read most of the arguments in this topic and will give a little point of view. Firstly, yes... Ibiza is probably known worldwide more for its clubs than anything else aand thats the outbound truth. In my country if you ask anybody or mention the name "Ibiza", they instantly think of parties etc.
This is what i thought it was like, and once i had arrived in Ibiza i was most certainly astonished as to how much more there was to the Island, than most notably the clubs. There were the most beautiful beaches i had ever seen.. such as Cala Conta etc etc with all the beautiful coves and especially Es Vedra, we did the boat trip and it was amazing.
So yes, there is most definately a hell of alot more to Ibiza than JUST the clubs, but if you are looking at a large scale and arguing the fact that on a worldwide and general scale, Ibiza is stereotyped as an island which is catered for the party animals.. however for those who have been there you will now obviously be more aware of the hidden beauties which grace this beautiful island.....
I feel that there would most notably be a decrease in tourism etc should the clubbing scene be ruined, however i have been involved with friends and people in the clubbing scene and im sorry to say that there are at least 8 out of 10 people in the ibiza clubs who are on something recreational (drugs). I dont feel that should this be stopped that the island would necessarily fall on its knees, because yes there are families who go there for their holidays etc.. and i think the local community and neighbouring lands such as Spanish Mainland will keep it alive, but the island definately would'nt be any better or special than something ordinary like St Tropez.
This is my 2 cents and hopefully some people agree with me. If you dont like what i had to say then you are very narrow minded.
