Don't go knocking the West-end

If we're saying people who enjoy the west-end aren't 'cultured' - half the argument being that they don't know who tiesto is, consider this:

How many people down the west-end slag off clubbers? Of all the people posting pro-westend on this topic who has said: "People who go to the big clubs are nasty pieces of work"? None.

How many 'cultured' clubbers have slagged off people in the west-end? Several.
Some with reason, I'll grant that, but most just seem to hold a grudge against the place. I can assure you that I am not a trouble maker, I hate fighting, I enjoy a laff and enjoy havin a dance in a club to 4get about the world. I ENJOYED THE WEST END. I enojoyed Priviliege and Amnesia, Eden and Es Para as well... but all the while I was wondering - 'Exactly what can people hold against the west-end?' It's just different. Some Narrow minded people could say the clubs are less 'cultured' - they have a far higher rate of drug use in them, west end I saw very little in the way of pills, coke etc. Personally I don't mind ppl taking drugs, but do you see how you can flip the argument? West end - few drugs. Clubs - More drugs. Therefore clubbing is worse than west end.

Yes there are fools down the west-end, but unfortunatly all this post is doing is showing us that both sides of ibiza life, clubbers and west-enders have bad things about them. Some west-enders can be noisy and drunk. Some clubbers can speak down on people who are essentially just out to enjoy themselves. From my own experence I can say that west-enders fun only spoilt other peoples once, out of more than 10 nights down there. That was a fight, which I'll agree with people who say wouldn't have happened in a club. Seeing one fight there all the time I was there isn't bad. As I've said before where I come from I see one or two per night.

I think I'll stay a west-ender who enjoys clubbing. That gives me the chance to meet both the nice clubbers and the nice west-enders. I'll avoid folk who slag other people off. It's them who give both the west-end, and ultimatley ibiza a bad name. :o

I think it's each to there own, without the west end we'd all like the same things etc....it would be utter pants.

However i do NOT understand why people would go abroad and not experience a bit of culture or do different thing then what they'd normally do back home.
louts: go abroad all they want is english pubs, english food, fights, getting plastered and being a pain in the arse.

thats what i dont like, wether there in the west end or in pacha.

Have to agree with the above comment. Myself and a load of mates from Dublin stayed in Playa Den Bossa in June and inevitably, much to my own annoyance, we always nearly ended up in Murphy's IRISH bar most nights. Rididulous.

Burn when you live in Ibiza and you see the west end through the whole summer it's just like being in a seaside resort such as southend...ie barclays bank.

Without the west end the Tossa del mar's wont come to ibiza...good! kick em out the useless "£$%!

A very good point re: going abroad and doing englishy things - I'm afraid I spent the first few days only eating eng food, soon changed tho.

But are the clubs in Ibiza really so different from the clubs at home? They're certainly bigger, better (more expensive), more ppl.

The west end is a strip of bars just like at home... only... bigger, more of them, cheaper, more people.

And cud sum1 define a Tossa del mar, I've got a gud idea wat ur on bout but wudnt mind confirmation. :)

Oh and Murpheys is an acquired taste, I wudn't spend the night there but me and my m8 had a good few hours in there each night, it's a great place to chill out with a bottle b4 going elsewhere. The guy who plays there is very talented - I don't hear any live Irish music at home so I enjoyed xperiencing summat a bit diff... and then I went 2 see Tiesto :D

In fairness though we'd drink outside of Murphy's and never inside which did seem a bit of a kip but the whole idea of going away on holiday is to get away from home and try something different.
