Don't go knocking the West-end

I dont have a problem with the West End. Everyone should go at least once, and if you dont like it then you dont like it. So what.

The W.end is SO much more cilivlised than it used to be and the quality of bars has improved too. Sure, there a loads of chavs but it also plays host to clubbers and workers looking for a cheap night.

I will do the 'too cool for my own shoes' clubbing with the best of them but sometimes a good old fashioned booze up can be just as much fun. Surprise yourself and go with your fun head on and an open mind.......

.....make sure you have had a few pints first tho.

we had two newbies with us this year, so we went up for a while one night to check it out, there wasn't many chavs/beerboys about in fact the most annoying thing was those Pr's who constantly harass you

Yeah, those PRs seriously wreck your head. After being stopped for about the 10th time in a 50 metre stretch it's very hard not to tell them to just go and fcuk off. Especially when the same ones keep busting your balls any time you walk by them.

What is wrong with clapping the sunset if it is a good one? You obviously just dont get it.

No offence mate but clapping the sunset is ridiculous, from what ive been told from people who have been going to Ibiza far longer than me is that the clapping was always for the DJ playing the right tune at the time of the sunset.
If there’s one way of ruining the moment of a good sunset it’s a load of people clapping then getting up and walking away 30 seconds later as someone else said.

Ive only been to the west end twice and from what i see it serves a good purpose of keeping the 18-30 club in one place throwing up on each other. I may be wrong though and will check it out again in a few weeks with an open mind just incase

the west end, a controversial subject if ever there was one. Good to see that the majority don't seem to mind it, cuz yeah you have to go to clubs in ibiza, but having a good old fashioned piss-up for cheap is fun too. And altho the W E is teeming by 2am i assure any non believers that there are very few idiots there. Lyk i say, i was out there a lot and never met one (where I usually go out you'll meet three or four genuine pricks a night - which sez something about where I'm from).

Oh and yeah, PRs do rag you there. But just use any of the following phrases to lose them:
"Oh yeah! That bar's mint, I'm just meeting me mates then I'll be there." (then never return)
"I just need to go the bank, I'm skint."
"Excuse moi?"
"Just come from there it was crap"

hehe

saying that your a worker is a good one

OK, I'm sick of this bashing the clapping at sunset in San An thing. So what if the meaning of it has changed over the years. I like the damn clapping and find it charming.

I see it like this: we've all just seen a thing of beauty that only a god could produce. We are all happy the DJ put on just the right tune to accompany that thing of beauty. And with the sun down, the night has begun, and the night means time to get ready to hit the clubs. All reasons to celebrate, in my humble but correct opinion.

It's a beautiful thing and if you don't like it then find some isolated place to watch the sunset and wallow in the silence!

That said, I do not wave at the planes at Bora Bora :)

Morbyd maybe on your next visit you can try waving at the planes at Bora Bora, who knows you may enjoy it.

And if its not "cool" to wave at the planes........why do most of the "cool" clubbers on the terrace at Space still do it.

I sense a touch of snobbery on this Forum....." I only go to DC10, Space......I only like Carl Cox, Tiesto.......etc"

I like what I like.....I dont care if other people think it "un-cool"

Tooooooooo Right!
I even clap when the kettle boils!

(not so sure about that DJ business though, what's that all about?)

I've never been to the west end and not seen a least one poor soul getting his head kicked in. Sure I've had good times up there but having to watch your back sometimes is not good fun.

west end, should be the central !

I too have no idea what is so hated about the west end, unless your 50 year old gezers !
we went to the west end 3 times at our stay and it was always "wicked"
we usually went there b4 the partys and when we got bored of the party we were at. we also finished a few nights just eating there and watching the funny drunken britis.
some are extrrrrrremly drunk. but most are not. and nice polite and friendly as well ...
theres great food :!: , KFC open all night, and doners kabab is absoultly fu*kin good (and cheap). the dance bars are great. some more some less of course ... but the fact that you can go from one to the other (about 7 db) for free makes it more interesting ... diffrent music diffrent people and diffrent setting at the same night for nothing, the promoters outside that try to get you to go in are funny and playfull ;) . and at an end it's a fun cheap collerfull interesting place to be. and a MUST for ibiza in my opnion

those who say other are just plain spoilled geeks 8)

some of the best fights ive ever seen in my life have been in the west end, beats chuck norris anyday!

Fightings for tossers.

Don't get me wrong, if your skint or your holidays nearly over its great for going and getting wrecked, but i do feel sorry for the wee ladies who have to clean it up each morning. It can be a bit of a reality check though, one night your having it in Pacha or Amnesia, the next your sitting on a crap plastic chair and some cheeky sod has puked on your shoes. But i will say this, you cannot beat the west end for people watching, Get a chair outside and enjoy the show. Its better and funnier than the freaks parade.
