Don't go knocking the West-end

burn

Hey!
Just came back from Ibiza for the first time, stayed in San An. B4 I left I decided to read your forums (VERY helpful) but I noticed a general view that the West-end is full of beer boys, a generally unfriendly, nasty place.

So the first night I went to Amnesia - great night, best club I'd ever been. All well and good. Next night me and my clubbing buddy decided to check out the sunset bars, on the way back we went through the west end and.... it was great! We stayed there all night, met loads of genuinely nice ppl, had a great laff, spent FAR less money than the night before, and saw no violence... what more can you ask for?

So for the rest of the fortnight we went to the west-end every night... not JUST the west-end mind, went to Privilege, es para and eden (which perhaps want SO great). But the fact that the westend has so many different places, is CHEAP, and had a really nice atmos, meant that each night - yes 13 nights in the west end, was different and really top quality.

What I'm saying is, the west-end is NOT full of idiots, you get the odd one but hey, you get that everywhere. It's a decent place, good for pre-club entertainment, and all night partying.... IMHO

So there you go

:D

burn the heretic!

(edit. It's a play on words - burn, his name and burn, the verb)

I went into 1 bar on the corner of the west end and that was a very quick drink, poor music, no beautiful women, bad tasting beer, and general idiots, still quite experimental to go there for a one-off...but for me the West End is just like going into any British town centre on a friday night, so I have no reason to go in Ibiza, other than to poke fun at the pikeys

oddly enough jtm, i could have used your exact words to describe a beach bar in pdb when i visited it for the first and only time in june.

waving at planes - whatever next?

exacto!

I couldn't really care less what folk do at bora bora - if you all like it great, if not then so what!

the thing is you can put a spin on anything, i could write a review of any place on the island now and make it sound like the best thing since sliced bread or the worst thing ever.
dancing on tables - a spontaneous display of joy and ecstasy brought on by the magnetic beat of the finest house music on the planet.
dancing on tables - the rampant disrespect of leary eyed druggies on rave island.

which is correct?
then do it yourself for a few 'pikeys' drinking beer way out west.

What is wrong with clapping the sunset if it is a good one? You obviously just dont get it.

Its not going to inspire an encore. The sun isn't going to appreciate it.
Its like people clapping after a film in the cinemam WHATS THAT ALL ABOUT?

hey stephen i know we havnt exactly seen eye to eye in the past but agree 100% with these coments

dont know if ive matured in the 3 years ive been using these forums but im agreeing wiht you and a lot of you recent posts have made sense !!

ive always said that in my opinion the westend is worth a visit and people should visit it to form there own opinions and i bet probably 70% of those people would have positive things to say ..

I think I went to that one too, it seemed fine to me, though I was sat on the beach rather than in the bar, though I admit I did wave at the odd plane once or twice in the morning after going to Pacha

I must be a sad sod..........

I wave at the planes at Bora Bora and when on the terrace at Space.

I dont mind some of the bars in the West End.

I like cheesy Dave Pearce and Slinky.

I even clap the sunset when at the bars on the strip.

Everyone to there own I suppose .....

It keeps me happy !!! :D

You know, if everyone on the island actually enjoyed exactally the same things then all the "cool" or "good" spots would be too crowded for everyone to get in. Be glad that people have different tastes...

I SECOND THAT :!:

I MAY actually give the West End a try in September.

Usually I take one look at the seeting mass and leg it the other way . . .

Hmm, my resolution is slipping. Maybe not totally though. I'll start with Plastik and possibly Play 2 , see if I can still smile and go from there.

Or maybe not . . . . .

Whilst clapping the sunset doesn't feel quite right to me, I find the mass exodus 2 mins after sunset muchmore hilarious/worrying!

What ever happened to that relaxed chill out mood?

Going back to the original post re westend.

I spend most of my time in the VIP rooms of the big clubs, hanging out on Salinas/cala jondal beaches and drinking in Privado, KM5 and Ibiza town surounded by people who look down there nose at people who stay in san an. But i do love a bit of San An action every now and then can't beat it. The 25 euros 2 drinks costs in some places, gets me quite drunk in the westend!
