My life and the Paradise Garage is a beautiful book ain't it?

I have read the da vinci code mate thats the most horrifying book I have ever read ;)

It is a lovely book. I had to stop reading it for a bit once everyone got HIV as it got a bit much for me to take in. But it gets a thumbs up from me!

Da Vinci code is pedestrian fodder compared to Crowley.

"Do as thou wilt and that shall be the whole of the law" MUUAAHAAHAAHAAAAAAA!

...

It was definitely a golden era.

And yet, it's dead and buried - ask anyone in Vauxhall how much they know about Stonewall and the Garage.

anything and everything - EXCEPT Catherine Cookson and anything in the Mills & Boon genre....

I do like biographies / autobiographies, forensic crime, I also like a good scary book too

Phil thinks I have horrible taste in books and thinks I am only one step away from paying a subscription to Serial Killer Monthly.....:lol::lol:

Books that I quite like and keep re reading include:

Motley Crew The Dirt
Any book by Irvine Welsh especially Marabou Stalk Nightmares
Last Night a Dj Saved my Life
James Frey My Friend Leonard & Million Little Pieces
The Time Travellers Wife (its a bit Chick lit but its still a good book)
Iain Banks the wasp Factory
Alexander Shulgin - PHIKAL
Thomas McFadden Marching powder
The Harry Potter books  massive guilty pleasure for me

Carl Sagan - Billions and Billions at the moment!

Quite an inspiring writer.

I might borrow that off you then, I could do with some new direction in my satanic rights!

I have no doubt that they dont have a clue about all that. It was a magic time and one I wish I could of seen. It was really shocking to read how HIV as good as wiped out a whole generation of young men.

I'll read most things, although a books blurb has to really grab my attention.

Joe Abercrombie has released 4 books in the last 3 or 4 years and I've read all of them. I'm not into fantasy, but they were all superb. Didn't bother with dwarves, trolls and unicorns and all that bollocks. Before that I've read all the dexter books which were also really good, although the last one was a bit so so.

Also for crime the first two books from Stieg Larssons millenium trilogy are really good, however I haven't read the 3rd one yet as it is due to be released out in a couple of months in english and I can't really be bothered to struggle reading it in swedish.

I used to read nothing but horror books when I was a kid!

I will read any biography about music / musicians

It was really shocking to read how HIV as good as wiped out a whole generation of young men.

...and liberated young men who wanted to live!

If they could be alive to see how much apathy there is on the gay scene nowadays surrounding safe sex - not to mention self loathing, bio hazard, bug chasing risk takers, they'd all be turning in their graves!

Had they stayed alive then this generation would have more role models.

Anyways - I'm hijacking the book club thread with my diatribe now.

More books I quite like

Every book by Chuck Palahniuk especially Invisible Monsters
Anthony Keidis Scar tissue one of the more honest Autobiographies out there
John Harris The Backpacker
Mario Puzo The Godfather

I only love girlie non-fiction reads such as Sophie Kinsella, Mike Gayle, Lisa Jewell.

Also love the occasional glossy (does that count)

What's girlie non-fiction reads?

Absolutly fan of Irvin Welsh here, reading at the moment Glue.
