DIXON Presents... TRANSMODERNA @ DC10 2020

Has DC10 ever hosted a party with a bit of a "higher-concept" (that one's for you, Olly ? ) than just the music before?
Not that I recall
But this assumes Transmoderna continues in that direction

Tbh, even if it doesn't, I'm exciting for the music alone. It was top drawer last summer and deserves to be back!
 
Amazing... Great move I think.

Really hope his closing party isn't till weekend of 2nd Oct.. But doubt it :(
 
I wasn't slating dc10 yesterday. It"s a shrewd booking. Merely pointing out that it's a venue we would never go to now. Nobody I know would go. Just being realistic. That's just how it is. We're too old probably. If you're just getting into Dixon though, his party is an absolute do-not miss. Far more sonically adventurous than any of the others. (Hipsters at Pacha?! Who? When? Probably a debate for another thread lol)
 
I went twice last year, one night in early June which was epic but Solomun was guest, second was flat with a fairly poor turnout in peak season but still a good set from Dixon.

He should do some longer sets and have more regular Ame appearances for me.

Be interesting to see the schedule.

Move makes sense as majority of punters if doing a Pacha weekend night are doing the Sunday. This gives weekenders some variety especially folk that head home on a Monday and miss Circoloco.

Shadows at Cova Santa was amazing, regretted leaving to head to Pacha last year. Trying to cram too much.

Magdalena fits very well there and gets a great vibe going.
 
One thing I gleaned from last Sept is that Dixon loves his dramatic tunes. In the old days, he mixed up German and detroit house in more conventional 4/4 sets and stuff but his sound has really shifted. Expect loads of eerie effects and explosive interludes. Wailing, firecrackers, repressed kickdrums you name it! I didn't recognise anything. He swerves classics completely.

I can see Shadows maybe moving days this year ... Going up against Peggy Gou and Dixon on Fridays and Magdalena getting more bookings elsewhere these days might lead to another night working for them ...

This is a good point. I do think that had it stayed at Pacha it could have grown into one of those parties that attracted people for the music, but a good mix of some hipsters, arty types, people in gimp outfits (there were a few) etc.

Yeah it’s about the music, but sometimes a mix of people is good and slightly lacking from a lot of parties that just attract a narrow demographic in Ibiza these days.

All of the above could happen at DC10, or it could just be a bunch of us 100% into the music, and Transmoderna will be less about the “higher concept”. And if that’s the outcome, that’s great too.

I’ve long said Pacha and DC10 are my two favourite clubs for what they offer, so as long as it’s in one of the two, I’m a happy man.

The truth is it should have probably started at DC10 for a few years and then eventually could have expanded at Pacha.
