DC10 getting demolished

can't see circo working very well at privilege, purely down the people it attracts and its diversity when if comes to its music, I think it would go further down the 'san an crowd route' which is what alot of people seem to be saying this year and would lose its 'cool' international crowd even more!

The last time I went (which wasn't this year   ), I turned up at 10 in the morning with the freaks from space etc, i found it much more enjoyable then because the place was less than half full upto about 3/4 in the afternoon and the fun and debauchary where at there highest level before it got busy . I hope when I go back next year I have the oppurtunity to experience it like that again rather than going to a full night do at an enormous warehouse with big glass windows (which I won't be doing!!)

My 2 cents...

purely for the fact that DC-10 was (is?) one of the last remaining relatively uncommercialied events...

Why did they kick out Stink and Michael Mayer?

Which is why I put the (is?) in brackets....Stink failed because it didnt immediately pull in the crowds but Would still say compared to the competiton DC-10 is still relatively less of a cynical money making machine that a lot of the other clubs are :spank:

was full of italian chavs (sorry to any italians out there) just standing in the middle either dealing or pushing and shoving each other or having conversations on their mobile phones or arguing with each other

haha  Italian Chavs.I like that...I can just picture them now. With the mullet hairdo with the shaved side bit fully accessorised with a man bag...a lot cooler than their english counterparts tho! ;)

Tom was after some semtex the Monday before last and he was just going to blow the place up

Ha ha, if they need some, i'm sure i can phone round my contacts to get some. Wouldn't want to think things are being held back - i'll even bring a sledgehammer to get things started!

Why, can some of your South London contacts get hold of semtex  ;)

CircoLoco was free till 2001-2? now it's 30 €. Stink didn't make the numbers? out.
la communidad was free now 30 € at space.

Had my first trip to Circo Loco at DC10 a few weeks ago and was undoubtedly my favourite party of my whole trip!

Im sure it has changed a fair bit since it started but it still felt pretty uncomercial and completely different to anything else when turning up to hear the tunes banging out of the terrace/shed and people dancing around in the car park.

It was pretty busy but found everyone friendly and was definitely the best atmosphere out of all the parties we went to (unlike space especially at the carl cox closing)

I also think it really depends on your mindset at the time though what you make of it. By the time i got there i was allready in a pretty good mood ;-)and in there had a good laugh with my mates but didnt really pay much attention to what other people were doing.
Other nights when my mood is less good i do tend to notice and get irratated more by moody/abnoxious people.

Yep every year they've put the price up by 5 euros, I guess I'm just a tight northerner who wants to go back to the free/5 euro entry days

was thinking about going about 10am for the closing on monday, but was unsure if it would be any good(full or not)

would you reccomend going this time?

I prefer it early on, you get all the post-Space nutters there and it's just filling up nicely, then you can stay for as long as you want before it gets too busy for you ;)

They've advertised three areas.

:D :D

I do a rant about this in my review (coming soon!!) and I missed this thread but I've voiced my opinions on this subject before about a month ago

I think it should be knocked down and the memory of the club preserved. The major reason I don't like it anymore are:

1) it has a reputation for having a reputation, its like every1 thinks they should be acting all wacky/crazy/out there cos they are at dc10, even if they are not actually like that.
2) people spent more time on their phones, cameras, videoing of this false wackyness than actually dancing.
3) the club became popular as a carry on for home/WLS, where funky/tribal/terrace vibes ruled and you could tan whilst you danced. The carryon thing is less evident now and the music is far too plinky ploopy.

knock it down and let other venues/events evolve in its place.
