Well neighbours 2 doors down decided to have a house party. 4 cars turned up with visitors blocking the drives and access. Loud karaoke in the garden till midnight and then inside afterwards.

Then they leave to BYE, BYE, NICE TO SEE YOU!

So been real discreet ?

There are still abandoned cars blocking drives as some where too pissed to drive back.

(We're in tier 3)

If I get asked to take deliveries when they are out in future, I'll be declining.

it’s going on all down my street and all over the country!

folk have had as much as they can handle unfortunately

Yup this is true. Understandable , but I guess those peeps haven't had people the know die from it or suffer the bad side effects some get ?‍♂️.

Personally I am not bothered about people having house parties if it only affected them. It's when they unknowingly infect a carer who could be looking after my grandad etc.

And after all in just over a week or so we've got a "pass" anyhow.

Kinda give up mate.

Edit: we all hoping 2021 is going to be better, but get feeling jan 2021 for the UK is going to be a bit rough for many reasons ?‍♂️

They should try being a nurse on massively overworked and understaffed wards dealing with the other side of this AND having the same restrictions to live with outside of work. I spent most of my first day back on Thursday listening to various members of my team on tears. They wont be at parties and will keep turning up through what will be a nightmare January and February

No sympathy at all at this point, they are just selfish, thick or both

Agree with you that January will sadly be tough. Usual problem of Xmas bills hitting and weather being grim, but this time likely to be combined with increased Covid rate, isolation because of lockdown and at best confusion due to Brexit (if not full on disruption) The weather affects me a lot, in Lockdown1.0 was quite content with sitting outside with a beer, now I feel trapped in the house, finding it hard to motivate myself to go for a walk in the rain.

Agree with this, once the government loses the goodwill and trust of the public then people will socialise regardless of any restrictions imposed. I fear the battle for compliance was lost a long time ago, my local towns seem as busy as they were pre-pandemic (albeit with the forced closure of the hospitality sector).

I think regardless of anything the Government did people would have become bored/apathetic/angry and less complaint by now.

But Cummings trip to test his eyesite, the Eat Out To Help Out and then Stay In again cos we got it wrong have been big moments.

I also don't think constant rule changes help, like thousands have booked a holiday to the Canaries in good faith (TUI said they have 5k British out there now) now they must isolate on return, but the isolation has been cut from 14 days to 10 and some mention of getting a test and cutting that further but its not clear yet. Sometimes Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland implement similar rules but a few days different. Unless you spend all day reading Gov.uk its hard to keep up.

I can't condone the party, but I can certainly vouch for people having had enough.

All we get told is what we can't do. This lockdown is going on and on and on - we need social centres to be OPEN and SAFE so some of us can speak to another human being face-to-face. If peeps are spread out, masks etc, even in T3 why can't we have a beer? Why can't we watch the game in the same large room? That's why people are breaking the rules. The powers that be simply aren't making the effort to protect our mental well-being.

Last week I had a regular blood test and the nurse told me she had seen an older lady the day before, and she was literally shaking as it was the first time she's ventured outdoors since mid-March. Dunno what was causing the shaking - fear? excitement? relief?

I agree, it's totally understandable people had enough.

Also, condoning people having a party is one thing....but the atmosphere here, judging people for what is perfectly normal and expectable behaviour after months of illogical restrictions indeed is another thing. Why so many of you are acting like it's totally normal that someone cannot even invite a few people to have some fun in their OWN HOME is beyond me. Don't make abnormal things normal.

Yes, what could be the problem with people meeting indoors in the middle of a pandemic?

Unfortunately we are living in extremely abnormal times. So what you feel is 'judging' is just a natural, and normal reaction coming from a point of frustration for varying reasons.

Yeah it could wind up worse than 2020. Not least because of lockdown fatigue, a year before things get somewhere close to back to normal in terms of freedoms and the fallout from Brexit.

I'm sure he the type who drives 70mph on motorway when there is 2 inches of snow laying on it. Cause that's "normality" ?

Edit: in fact, why even obey the speed limit. It's just governments way of controlling people ?

That's why I suggest having social centres open where distancing is enforced...far better to have 30 supervised and spread out in a public area than even three or four mixing at home. But even those that keep to their own "bubble" at home are at risk when someone brings covid home from school or work.

There's gonna be the issue of - probably by February - all those who are young-ish having had the vaccine wanting to get out and be normal again whilst places are still out-of-bounds.

How do we get round that - have a vaccine passport and open places to holders, thus aggrivating the young to middle-aged who are still restricted, or (assuming the vaccine works) telling those vaccinates they are still under house arrest for another 2 - 3 months??

I was thinking similar but more country based. Say uk vaccinated all at risk by april, but Spain is slower, they are going to be reluctant to allow unvaccinated tourists in.

So the not at high risk groups will want vaccinating too but that could take to late summer and beyond ?

I dont disagree
