Had the fright of my life at Lidl today - did my normal shop (no I didn't buy a pneumatic drill instead of eggs) which comes to around £40. Including wine.
Goes throught the checkout "card or cash, sir?"
"Card"
£142"

You what??? Apparantly the pack of ham slices registered at £102-something. Must have been a hell of a struggle to catch that pig at those prices!

Anyhow, supervisor trots over and sorts it....apologises etc - I remark "it might be right next month after Brexit!"

Stoney-faced reply "You're not far off....."
Mmm, jamon iberico, that I’d pay good cash for

On a serious note as much as sometimes I would love to be single I was in a mates house today where the decks were set up in house where he always lived with his parents. Both dead now . 3 bed house he knocked two bedrooms into one .decks couches and soundproofed party room you could call it. Downstairs in sitting room he had 2 huge TV's one connected to PlayStation and something else and the other for Netflix's and the like.. he's 51 lol living the dream some might say..?

He might've gone for a "playroom" with red velvet walls rather than the soundproofed party room ... each to their own

I've done a sililar thing, but I'm in my 60's so it's not suitable for ravers. Took me a while to get my head around that it was my parent's house that I was messing around with, but decided thanks to lockdown - that for my own mental state the house had to be turned into my space. So all their stuff of sentimental value is piled into the spare room, the dining room's now the pool table room, and the major bedroom upstairs is now my "cinema"; but not yet got round to a full surround system (just a soundbox, albeit a bloody good soundbox). The pool room's my "pub" with a PC for games, and apm/speakers etc.
So if they walked in, they's recognise the ordinary lounge but the rest of the house might send them into orbit! has been decorated and new carpets though - that was the first job.
Now, all I need's a wifey or hubby to come and feck it all up for me.

stats shooting up again here ( & in sweden too I hear. our friend in malmo has it real bad) just gotta hold tight. xmas family logistics are a nuisance but not really that bothered tbh if we cancel. first SP vaccinations scheduled for 4/5 January according to health minister Salvador Illa

mental how much media attention tier 3 is now getting because London is going into it. No north/south divide though?
Can't believe this, a football manager (Chelsea's I think) has moaned that it's not a level playing field now - with four teams being allowed fans and them not as they are now in level 3.
He can do one, didn't here him say it's not a level field when his lot could have fans but the Manchester clubs can't.

You don't have to be single for that!

When wife and I bought our house I was dead set on a finished basement which is now fully wired with surround sound and subs and sound reactive lighting. Since the basement is below ground level its almost totally sound proof, I just had to cut some foam insulation to fit the window wells to get it all the way sound proof (wrapped the foam in wrapping paper for aesthetics) which I put into place when we know it will be thumping. Bar and mini fridge for drinks. The only thing I haven't been able to account for is the noisy friend who needs 2 am cigarette breaks and talks loud enough to wake the neighborhood...

Day to day its a home theater where I watch TV and movies.

Having done the tests, packaged them up, arrived at the courier depot before the advertised last time, no answer at any door. If I hadn't been the sort of person who goes in through the warehouse doors and finds someone to deal with it,. I'd guess we wouldn't be getting our results in time. Utter shambles. Still worried they'll lose the samples

So the online tracking shows that the samples I dropped at 4:30pm were scanned as 'collected' there at 21:20....it's going to a tense couple of days
