Do Solardo have an album out? When?

I note that Elliot Eastwick just announced his new 'hot sauce' if we are talking about cynical promotion

Ha, noticed the hot sauce thing. Works both ways to be fair, doesn’t it? They have a new tune out, I think I read album too. Camelphat waded in with some illiterate support and they have an album out on Friday.

the difference between the 80s/90s and now is that there wasn't a killer pandemic then. for all thatcher's sins she never quite managed to actually slaughter people. so whilst the idea of illegal parties to kill the boredom is timeless, the circumstances are completely different.

By the way I am no way condoning these events or DJs playing them, but I do understand why they are happening. We all look back at rose tinted glasses at the 90s rave scene, illegal raves etc but why exactly did they happen and how is it different to what is happening now?
Not saying you are pal. I get your general point. I understand why these raves are happening, but they are more dangerous than any that took place around the 80s and 90s.

Surely you can see the difference? The difference is that there is a global pandemic taking place and the actions of those attending will inevitably lead to the infection of others and in some cases death. All because they wanted to have a party. It’s so Selfish and unnecessary.

How will you feel if a friend or family member dies of Covid as 1.1m have to date in less then a year, and they trace the source back to a person that attended an illegal rave? Wouldn’t you think it was unnecessary? We all take Covid risks at present, going to the shop for food, etc. But by not taking unnecessary risks we can reduce the infection and death rate.

I get it - but I can also understand how the 18-21 year olds, living at home with their parents who’s only real outlet was probably going clubbing have spent 6-7 months banged up with no end in sight, why they might want to attend a race.

none of those DJs were advertised, they turned up - so the fact the race happened is a bigger problem than the DJs

There is an end in sight. It’s just a case of being a good citizen until then. Being 18-21 cannot be a free pass to going out killing people. We all just need to bide our time and try not to do anything that will kill someone in the meantime. It’s not a big ask when the consequences are considered, however frustrating it is.

I agree on that, and IMO it's common sense, but lots of people who think closing down stuff is BS just won't agree to that.

And it is quite apparent that most of those that think that way will rebut anything that stops them doing anything they want, regardless of consequence. It’s simply any excuse and they don’t care about the devastation they cause. It’s a sad reflection on a large minority of society In 2020.

I’d like to say they may change their mind if they lost someone close as a result. However, the more I read and learn, I think most wont. They are selfish to the core and the death of a friend or family member is an acceptable outcome if it means they can attend a party. I’m really beginning to think this is how a large minority of people think. After 1.1m deaths, it’s hard to form any other conclusion.

It's common sense to say that the 18-21 year that go to illegal raves are 'killing people'?
Saying that to them is just emotional blackmail.

The government should do more to educate them...tell them that in the case they do break the Covid rules (which is totally understandable, everybody does even the government officials themselves) ..they need to stay home for a while and not visit their grandparents. Again, learn to live with the virus.

And if they live with their parents, then their parents can't visit the grandparents either. ? That whole household could be considered a covid risk.

You really think that many of the cohort we are talking about are going to go to a party, then self isolate for two weeks, not go to work or college, get tested and not go out anywhere? Do you really think that they will do all that?! Are you serious?!

True. So that's the consequence then. But telling them: you're killing people, we're shutting everything down, high fines etc. ...is not the solution either.

Edit: to be fair...they and their parents should not visit their grandparents at this time in the first place. I've been saying that all along. We should really divide the elderly until they get the vaccin.

My 18 year old said to me the other night "Dad, I just want to go clubbing"

who looks after the ‘divided’ elderly then ? And how do they protect themselves & the elderly ? Or do you mean stick them away and let them die with no care?

The consequence is that they are making folk ill and killing people. You are saying yourself, that is the consequence. It’s not a case of shutting everything down. It’s a case of managing risk and being a responsible citizen.

Daily tested and well equipped health care personnel.

It's a virus that kills really old people. So we should do everything to protect the really old people.
That's not what we've been doing for months now. We've been shutting everything down and locking the young people up. And on top of that...we're still letting those two age groups mix. It's doing more harm than good.
