Can someone explain is? Again genuine question......
I had virus November. And had I f@cked up a deep dive 1 month after. I would have gone down as a covid statistic. When infact it would have been the dive profile which would have been the problem....
How many people in all honesty do you think are unlucky enough to catch COVID, and then die of something else within 28 days? Or what metric should we use? We know that COVID may not be the main reason, but a contributor to someone dying but I am not sure how you ascertain that with 100k deaths? We can't carry out in depth post mortems on all of them surely

That’s what I don’t get! That’s why people question if there is something behind this. Surly they would be doing everything possible to manipulate the numbers down so they don’t get absolutely slaughtered!

Anyway, I laughed at HOW and WHAT they count as Covid deaths. No one here is laughing about 100k deaths.

Can’t really argue with ONS excess death statistics though. Ever thought that the experts do actually know a thing or two? There is no benefits to a goverment to keeping people from spending their money.

I'm not sure of you're point either. Covid has directly killed a huge number of people in the UK. What's it matter if it directly caused 80,000, 90,000 or 110,00?
It's just something people use to muddy the waters of debate
Like I say - how many people do you think have died and caught covid within 28 days to 'push the numbers up' ?
How else do you think they should count it ?
Or as posted above how about measuring this as 'excess deaths' ? Or will you find some issue with that?

Allright poor choice of words it was then.
It's about playing with statistics. You can prove either point with it if you use it like this.
Also we've debated about the trustability of PCR tests earlier too. Those count too.
I'm not saying 10k would make a huge difference in how we should look at this virus...but what if it's more? What if it's 20k?
How about worldwide.
Another angle.....let's say we would test everyone that dies on Herpes.
And use the same rhetoric they use now for Covid. Herpes would be the most deadly virus in the world.
You're very good at actually not answering questions put to you.
Again:
1) In your 'expert' opinion, how many people do you think are incorrectly being added to the number of 100k?
2) How would you count the deaths? Using what criteria and how would you calculate that number?
3) If this really was some 'fear porn' thing - why would they add an asterisk and comments on it? Hardly hiding the fact are they

Except people are dying of coronavirus and not of herpes? You are off on an odd tangent today
New virus emerges. Same time millions of extra deaths occur around the globe. Millions die with symptoms of Covid. Not sure what you are getting at.

I'm not here to answer all your questions.
I'm here because I choose to and I realize the stuff I post goes against all your beliefs and truths but that doesn't make you the questioner who I have to justify to. Not every problem someone lays on the table has to come with a solution.
I would count deaths as Covid deaths if that's at least the suspected death cause determined by the doctor or coroner.
Not by a positive test from a month old. That will include some false positives....and with the numbers we are seeing that might be a big number, I have no idea how many old people have a positive PCR test and die within a month but would have died within that month anyway.
I never used the world fear porn in relation to this picture. I do know that death toll and positive tests and new exotic variants are very handy to keep the people scared.

Not sure about any other countries but I really dont think Bozza is trying to scare us. He seems to desperately want to tell us all everything is going to be okay

Not debating people dying from Covid. I know.
Just the way the deaths are counted surprised me. Even after giving it some thought, I think this is not how we should use statistics for such a drastic policy.
