What people thoughts about a second peak in USA? I know they upped testing but in quite a few states still going up ?. Markets seem to be reacting to that.

In UK I guess next week or 2 we will see if lax social distancing has had an impact. Hopefully not too much. Think policy is if it's not too bad then run with quite high numbers of new infections (compared to say, South Korea) and open up.

Pubs in 2+ weeks with probs 1m rule will be chaos. Everyone will be, "right, f*** it, off for a pint and getting leathered" ?

100%. People in this country always have to push it....that is one of the reasons Germany have done so well...the people stick to the rules more!

Think the 4/5/6 July is the earliest for pubs. There was a good article on the BBC news last night with a few landlords saying that 2m means thir capacity drops by 70%, so it actually loses them more cash by staying shut.

Yeah I saw that too. 1m is almost next to someone. Drunk peeps at 1m are more likely to get closer as the social lubricant gets to work. 2m it's much more in your face you should maintain a distance. Plus people shout/talk loud a lot more and more likely to spread anything.

Beer gardens with waitered service I'm fine with, not sure how going to manage people using the toilets. Gotta raise hand and ask? ?

The virus made it's way around the world in the way it did, I cant see the lockdowns effectively stopping alot of us being exposed to it once its reached our areas in which we live, surely most the world should of had it pass through them by now? Even those who have taken most precautions throughout still have handled food packaging and other various day to day items in which they could of picked it up

No wonder places are thinking the time for normality returning is now without half measures
It was said it a statement this week that the models suggest that 95% of the population here (northern Ireland) have NOT contracted the virus yet.
Predicted to be 80% for London.

So that would contridict your theory unfortunately

it's hard enough to judge 1m/2m normally, let alone after a few snakebite blacks, or Smirnoff Ices- i don't know what the kids drink nowadays...

Hi guys,I am from Croatia, the clubs here reopened 2 weeks ago almost without measures(if there are some measures, the clubs do not stick to them).
From the packed events in last 2 weeks:

Wow thanks for that, thats great to see! From the looks of things everything will be completely business as normal in Croatia within a week or two, if it isn't already.

I was planning a trip to Ibiza for late July but might have to consider Croatia instead now, its probably a better bet for actually being able to go clubbing. Unless the big venues in Ibiza announce things in the next few weeks anyway.

I wonder if the politicians in Ibiza will be put under a lot of pressure to let clubs open if the locals start hearing of tourists going to Croatia/Greece etc instead now. The island is so completely dependent on tourism money.

Spanish govt are stricter I doubt they will allow clubs to open, if at all, without some sort of measures in place

Be really interesting to see how Croatia will pull this off, no face masks, no social distancing....will there be surge in new cases

I think a lot of people take/took more precautions than you imagine, especially where there are older people in the household. Every single item of food still gets dettol-wiped or washed in disinfectant if unpackaged before it comes into our house for example - and I know some older people on their own are so paranoid they leave their mail for 3 days before touching it (illogical and extreme I know but there you go !)

It gets more and more ridiculous by the day ?? https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/hand-luggage-should-checked-under-4214776?

The day I check in my camera and computer equipment into a hold to be ransacked, lost or broken there will be a blue moon in the sky. The rest of the world is drifting further and further away from grasp and every time I read a ridiculous idea like this I come to the conclusion it's best to just hunker down and shut the door on travel for a couple of years. Wake me up when sanity returns to Planet Earth.

It says should, not required. Lol dumbest advice ever. No one in their right mind will do this.

Finally they are talking about frontiers on national TV
French borders opened incoming on june 15th (all eu countries except spain UK with 2 weeks quarantinerestriction ) but ougoing july 1rst

Life cost rising by 5-15% , i heard in biz it raised by 9% ?
still 50% of hotels opened in ibiza? i heard stories of hotels not opening this year , not only the big fancy ones that need lot of staff but littles ones too.
Doyouspain renting raised by 75% because of Covid 19 crisis
More n more people on dole, doesn't sounds too good for numbers of people, willing to go on holidays this year and abroad while telling people to support local economy in spending holidays withing your country.

Good luck for them to have customers as without nightlife, it will hard to attract people.
If Covid 19 virus still on next year, it will be a year without holidays except local ones

The opposite I think. The higher end hotels will always do ok regardless of nightlife.

It’s the cheaper hotels in San An & PDB that will struggle I think

it's an interesting one this. while I don't doubt that a lot of the high end will travel this summer - to ibiza or anywhere they can, because they've got the funds, I personally am absolutely convinced lots of people from all walks of life (saying from the very budget crowd up to the filthy rich) won't come to ibiza because the big clubs won't open (or not in their usual form).
