Looking forward to it ? - I hope the central Spanish government doesn't derail the effort. There is really no reason to prefer Spanish tourists over foreign ones. It's great that regions are taking the initiative here.

In the new Covid world, it makes sense to have open borders between regions with similar infection levels. So until a vaccine is widely available, South Koreans will get to travel to Australia and New Zealand, Germans and Austrians will get to travel to the Baleares, French will get to travel to the continental Spain, and our British friends will hopefully get to travel to Florida :)
Florida aha we want some DC10 in our lifes, not Disney world ? but I get what you are saying

I want to address the issue that has arisen from the TNT Sofa Sessions project set up by some tour managers. A video montage created by TNT has created some controversy. I cannot speak for the other DJ's involved but to put this into context from my point of view. I was asked by my TM to do a brief video, saying that this group of TM's had done a bunch of DJ mixes to kill some time while at home and to do something creative for people to listen to. I was asked to post it on my socials to give it more reach and to give the swipe up link to download these mixes from Bandcamp.

I did not provide a mix for this. Simple as that. I have not been involved in this project beyond the video I recorded for my tour manager. I was entirely under the impression that this was a creative venture for charitable causes and at no point was I asked to be involved in a campaign to help raise money for TM's.

To clarify, there is no scheme where DJ's are asking fans and the general public to pay TM salaries. Quite frankly this would be an absolutely horrific thing to do and I don’t know anybody stupid enough to do that.

I would also like to point out that I did not see the montage video before it was made public, but having now seen it, I can understand how people have misinterpreted it. The way they have combined the montage of clips and presented the venture has clearly come across the wrong way. "Support" "donate" "help" being massively wrong key words to use. I think the reactions of the likes of John Askew, Dave Clarke, Maceo Plex, Cassy and others would have been totally valid, if the true intention was to encourage the public to pay TM wages.

It saddens me that so many people, including my colleagues in the industry have taken this at face value, without even questioning it. It saddens me also that people who know me have lumped me in with asking the public to do something which is quite honestly ridiculous.

I don’t feel obliged to discuss mine or my TM's financial matters on a public forum but what I will say is that I am far from being a millionaire or one of the worlds "richest DJs". Just like any other small business owner, I have several permanent staff that I continue to pay throughout this difficult time and just like everyone else, I'm trying to do what I can with the resources I have.

Im absolutely gutted to have been put in this position. TNT Sofa Session team are trying to rectify this situation and will issue their own statement to the public.

As a side note, I have seen numerous comments saying that people should raise money and donate to people who need it and our care workers, rather that TM's and "rich DJ's" and I couldn't agree more. Anyone that follows me will know I have been doing my best to raise money for the NHS and frontline workers by doing various campaigns, I have family working in ICU on the frontline and I'm happy to say we have raised thousands so far and proud of it.

This is a difficult time for everyone. Please stop jumping to conclusions without knowing facts and judging others online.

Thats all I have to say on the matter. Stay safe!
Now, that is a genuine explanation to the situation - fair

I don't see this being feasible at all. As far as I can tell, places like Germany and France have not closed their borders to EU citizens. Its really not hard travel to an approved region and then travel from there. How would you stop anyone who gets to mainland Spain from hopping onto a ferry to the islands? There is no passport enforcement once a person is already within the Schengen region, right?

Not sure about France, but the German border is (theoretically) closed to EU citizens unless they are residents of Germany, are in transit to their home country, or fall under a few other exceptions.

By limiting the number of ferries and/or sending all ferry arrivals into a quarantine. The same way Spanish citizens from the mainland are prevented from traveling to the islands.

Schengen is effectively suspended during the corona crisis. There are passport checks at airports and at many borders (although not everywhere). The Schengen agreement allows for suspension of free travel during crisis, and that's what pretty much every Schengen country did (I think Sweden still has open borders, but when returning to Germany, you go into a 14-day quarantine, which makes leisure travel to Sweden unattractive).

Yes, Schengen borders can be tightened or shut in the case of a pandemic, or after terrorism etc. Ironically they could have been tighter than the UK's border, we kept being told that Schengen/EU's borders were too weak so we had to leave the EU....

I appreciate the information! I only learned enough about Schengen to ensure I didn't have any issues on my honeymoon, which we had to cancel.

Heard of the second male suicide within 2 weeks from my hometown last night - both mid 30s to 40s.

Not folk I was close to at all. One a lad I knew when I was younger, one I knows partner.

I wonder how much the impact of the lockdown will be having over all on this problem.
The Government imposed lock down will have effect on economy, unemployment. So I throw a few numbers out there :
Usa have 30 million people claiming unemployment, 15 million kids live in poverty.
( statistics, read em as you want but Usa might come out of this "easy" as they have The strongest currency and swap lines ) .

India have 27 % unemployment ( officially, so real is alot more? )
Venezuela have 9,3 million people living with "food insecurity" ( and hyperinflation, and 1 USD cost 254770 Venezuelan Bolívar ) .
Syria have 6,6 million people living with "food insecurity" .

9 million people die of hunger a year, UN warns of a doubling .

Bad news - Got the call last night to say the virus is in my dad's care home. A couple of staff and a resident have tested positive. I wasn't shocked. It was going to happen sooner or later.

Good news - Last night was the first night since lockdown that I haven't touched a drop of booze. Will increase the booze free nights over the next couple of weeks until I'm back to weekend/holiday drinking only.

Just make sure borders are open in countries, where you plan your travel.
Switzerland opening its borders in June.
Would it be the case for other Shengen countries?

Really sorry to hear that mate, fingers crossed he comes through this okay

Day 12 without a drink, urgent action was needed

@Johnny Vodka fingers crossed for your dad!

my daily drinking ended right after my birthday last week. had one last 'big night' and then, after hangover day and in combination with the fact that we can now leave the house again for walks and runs, I've stopped on my daily wine. I love a glass of wine or a cold beer but it during lockdown it was simply daily and often not just one glass.

past few days I've had like one beer a day if even that. it's so much easier for me now that we can excercise outdoors.

Thanks & well done.

It just goes to show this thing is still doing the rounds, there are places it's still to get into. There will be a big price to pay for coming out of lockdown too soon. The way Trump is talking, I think the U.S. is looking at catastrophe.
