I cancelled my gym membership. I am in California, and though the risk is reportedly very low I don't want to get sick. I will conduct my work out by running outdoors; despite having some issues with arthritis in my knee, an old ankle injury, sciatica, etc. It will do for now... At least until there's a vaccine.

That, and I'm not going to be on campus for school. I'll remain enrolled, but I'd like to study from home. There will be more from the department chair on that according to my Spanish instructor...

What a heck of a thing! My knuckles are cracked and dry from all the soap!

Its getting close
2 cases declared in 2 branch office customer
Some colleague posting last night ,a school in his home was closed

I have just heard, first infected reported on Ibiza. A midaged Italian from Northern Italy.
One Ibizan reported to be infected also, but currently in Argentina.

Alltogether some 13 people infected on the Balearics.

as reported in this thread last friday. currently still the only known confirmed case on ibiza. there were more tests, but all came back with negative results.

I've been reading about it and feel a bit better informed. hygiene & social isolation are key

impossible to completely cut yourself off though (unless you're in a nuclear bunker with a year's supply of food and toiletries)

should people in certain professions or with wide access to the public be avoided? If you know people in public transport, medical staff or pharmacists, they might be the most exposed (one of our best friends is a pharmacist - should she be avoided? awkward)

From my travel insurance:

"42. This policy does not cover any liability, loss, cost or expense arising out of, resulting from, caused or contributed to any other virus or infectious disease that is declared to be an outbreak or epidemic by the World Health Organisation or any Government or ruling body of a country that the outbreak or epidemic has occurred in."

I book family holidays through package operators as they have good kids facilities, so I'm pleased that our Good Friday trip to Lanzarote is still on at the moment. The operator has confirmed that if Government advice changes and our destination is listed as 'don't go' they will offer a full refund. Still leaves the possibility of being quarantined out there though, and it appears our insurance isn't worth a ****......

It's not like you to worry!

caprices festival postponed to september, berghain closed until after easter....I'm sure timewarp will also be postponed.

Many schools have transitioned students to online classes in California and probably other places as well. Italy I think has.

I've requested to implement "distance learning" with my instructor. Still waiting to hear back. A counselor at my school informed me that our school may very well follow suit & transition everyone to an online environment. The school uses an online managed curriculum for many courses anyway with PowerPoint slideshows to accompany the lectures that you can go back and review. So it's not really that hard to imagine the transition.

Lots of events getting cancelled now.
Just saw Elrow Barcelona 15 march getting cancelled and all events over 1000 people in the south of the Netherlands are forbidden by the government.

Was supposed to be at Man City vs Arsenal tonight ?

As long as I make it to Love International in July I'll be happy

A week or so ago, before CV really took off, I saw that later this month - now wait for it - Liechtenstein are home to Gibraltar. Now THAT tickled my fancy STOP LAUGHING AT THE BACK what with a packed crowd of 200 (if it's not raining) I really thought about a flight and room; give the Mighty Reds a shout and all that. Luckily my bank balance told me "no, wait" and I'm glad it did because I can see all public events cancelled shortly in the whole of Europe, and thanks to FlyBe collapsing I've already lost one holiday (Amsterdam).
Did get my hotel money back and I'm waiting in insurance for the flight.
Serioulsly worried about Ibiza in June already booked - I wrote on here I was looking for cheap deals in May as well, that looks off now.
Bloody hell.
